Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

1973 Topps–Dusty Baker #215

I’m collecting the 1973 set, slowly but surely. This post is the latest in my quest for the completion.

73topps-dustybaker215

  • Card Facts – Dusty Baker – Atlanta Braves – Card #215
  • Purchase Price – $.11 (Ebay lot, 40/$4.25)
  • On the back (toon) – Dusty was a broad-jumper in high school.
    • “Dusty was the National League’s 3rd leading hitter in 1972.  The fleet-footed speedster led Braves in Doubles and was 3rd in RBI’s behind Earl Williams & Hank Aaron.”
  • Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 26th round of the 1967 amateur draft.
  • Debut – September 7, 1968
  • 1968-1975 (Braves), 1976-1983 (Dodgers), 1984 (Giants), 1985-1986 (A’s)
  • Born in Riverside, CA

It’s funny reading about how good Dusty was.  Because most of what I know of him is as a manager.  I read fleet-footed speedster and chuckled to myself.

  • Cards posted in this set – 12
  • Total price paid – $1.88
  • Average price per card – $0.16
  • Cards left to post – 672 (including NNO Checklists)
