Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

1973 Topps

I’m collecting the 1973 set, slowly but surely. This post is the latest in my quest for the completion.

I’m going to change the format of these posts again.  I want to get where I’m caught up posting everything I have so when I have a 1973 Topps post, it’s all the new stuff I picked up.  So until I get caught up, I’m going to go by team and maybe combine a few teams into 1 post.

We’ll start our new posts with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

I’d like to make these at least 10 cards and since the Los Angeles Dodgers only had 7 cards, I’ll add another team.  I did it by grabbing another less than 10 team randomly.  So here are the Oakland Athletics as well.

It’s good thing I went back on all posts and added tags for all the players represented.  Otherwise I would have posted 2 cards, 1 from each team above, that I have already posted.  I wonder how many others I duplicated so my stats below may not be all that accurate.

  • Cards posted in this set – 154
  • Total price paid – $29.18
  • Average price per card – $0.19
  • Cards left to post – 520 (including NNO Checklists)
  • Percentage posted – 154/684 (23% posted)
  • Percentage completed – 314/684 (46% completed)

Price per card went up a penny, I charge myself $.50 for each unknown card due to my poor bookkeeping.  Percentage posted went up 3%.

  1. LOVE those. '73 is my birth year so have always wanted to collect that set, my favorite next to 1971, which I just dig the look of. Thanks for sharing, this is a fun blast from the past. I've not collected cards in years

    1. 1973 is my birth year as well and that's why I chose to collect it. I think it's a toss up for me between 1971 and 1975 for my favorite but if I was forced to choose, I would go with 1971.

Sorry about the word verification, but blogger sucks at filtering out the comments as of late. As bad as their last update is.
