Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

New Additions - Tom Seaver Collection

*For those new to the blog, all purchases were made on Ebay (unless otherwise noted) and all were under $.50/shipped.

I'm listing Ebay stuff but also I got a package from Bru over at Remember the Astrodome so you'll see assorted stuff from him as well. He was originally going to hook me up with some 1984 Topps (which he did) but he ended up sending a bunch more vintage as well as some White Sox needs. I'll be randomizing the posts like I did the last bunch.

2 pretty awesome Tom Seavers if you ask me. I don't think you'd call Leaf an oddball but they aren't that easy to find in the 80's. Love the Coca-Cola card but I'm partial to the 1982 Topps set so it may be that.

In case you're interested, the reason I pretty much always post pics of single cards is because of these 2 blogs that I use to store my cards. My Personal Collections (now with over 2300 cards) and My Baseball Card Obsession (now with over 2500 cards and almost 900 different card labels).

2 more Denard Robinson cards for that collection. Out of all the Michigan guys that I started to last August, this collection has the most cards (which isn't saying much), it now has 16. Hmmm, 16, where does that number sound familiar. Oh yeah,

Denard Robinson

New Additions - Vintage Collection (1982-1985)

*For those new to the blog, all purchases were made on Ebay (unless otherwise noted) and all were under $.50/shipped.

I'm listing Ebay stuff but also I got a package from Bru over at Remember the Astrodome so you'll see assorted stuff from him as well. He was originally going to hook me up with some 1984 Topps (which he did) but he ended up sending a bunch more vintage as well as some White Sox needs. True to form, Bru sent me a whole bunch of Houston Astros for the vintage collection and you can also see the huge stack of 1984 Topps he sent me. Those were what he had originally contacted me about saying he had some for me, everything else was a surprise. The 1984 Topps cards he sent boosted that set over the quarter mark at 26%.

Both of these were accidents for the Vintage collection. I purchased the first card for the Mike Schmidt collection and realized I already had it. To make matters worse, I purchased the 2nd card for the White Sox collection not realizing that I had just one it a few days prior to this one ending.

New Additions - Vintage Collection (1986-1987)

*For those new to the blog, all purchases were made on Ebay (unless otherwise noted) and all were under $.50/shipped.

More Astros from Bru and a whole slew of 1987 Topps as well. All the ones picture were added to the vintage collection and that fat stack of 1987's put me at 76.64% completed which is by far the closest I am to finishing any of the sets in the vintage collections.

I'm just now watching the All-Star game that I recorded last week and I was watching the Franchise 4 ceremony and I was thinking that would make an awesome Topps set. I say Topps only because you would have to have logo's on that set. Wouldn't a set with the fan voted top 4 players of every team be awesome? If that happened, I may actually become a set collector just for that set. When using every player, there could be all kinds of subsets with in the set (inserts are a pain in the ass). I would so collect that.

Only picked up 1 Jordan this time around but he has the black jersey on that I like.

2 days in a row that you get to view a former Michigan Wolverine. Sadly, this one played for those Yankees though. Sorry about that. 3 more cheapy Abbott's which boosts it up to 48 cards.

2 more cards to the Taylor Lewan collection, at least they are different photos than the ones Topps recycled the hell out of. Which isn't surprising for the bottom card since it isn't manufactured by Topps but the top card is.

New Additions - Vintage Collection (1974-1980)

*For those new to the blog, all purchases were made on Ebay (unless otherwise noted) and all were under $.50/shipped.

I'm guessing since Bru is a Houston Astros fan, that these were all dupes from his collection but they are a welcome addition to the Vintage collection here.

I actually bought 2 of these for the White Sox collection on accident but that just means that I picked one up for the Vintage collection. It was all intentional, I swear.

Some bonus cards this month, my cousin "Sluggo" has finished his 1973 set and is starting a 1974 set so he bought a lot on Ebay and sent me his dupes for my vintage collection. As you can see, a nice, healthy stack was added, the bad part, that was half the package. I still have some left (20 cards, including another of that top card up there) and since I'm not collecting the Traded set, I have a stack (59 cards) from it as well. If you're interested in them, let me know. There are dupes in both lots so don't expect 20 or 59 different cards. I'm not looking for a trade, if you're interested in one or all of them, let me know. If you have a needs list for this set, leave me the link in the comments and I'll see if there is anything up there you need.
