1950’s

1955 Topps – Gair Allie

Another 1955, I know you’re shocked.  I’m down to only 2 more from the 50’s decade to show on these posts.  I believe this is the last of the 1955’s though, all 3 have been shown.

1960’s

1969 Topps – Gary Waslewski

I have 6 cards from 1969.  You got to love the airbrushed hat and the shortened team name.

1970’s

1973 Topps – Mike Cuellar

I have 421 cards from the 1973 set.  I’ve been working on this set longer than I have the vintage collection which is why I have so many more cards in this set. Although I haven’t made much headway as of late.

1980’s

1981 Topps – Al Oliver

I have 529 cards from the 1981 set. I’ve been working on this set longer as well. I still love the hats with the info on the front.

Not really a trade since these days I’m a sucky trade partner but Dennis knows this and still sends me cards.  You’ll get to see some of these cards and others over at Too Many Manninghams as well.

Josh was one of our huge prospects back then who never really lived up to his potential.  I always liked the guy, he just didn’t pan out and the White Sox gave him plenty of opportunity.

1955 Topps – Bobby Hofman

You got to love the 1955’s.  I have 3 of them, I believe you’ve now seen 2 of them.  I told you I didn’t have much from the 1950’s. That’s what happens when you only buy cheap.

1960’s

1968 Topps – Wilbur Wood

I actually have 20 1968’s so you’ll see some more of these eventually.  I probably picked this up for the White Sox collection then realized I already had it so it went to the vintage collection.

1970’s

1974 Topps – Steve Stone

I have 64 cards from the 1974 Topps set. This card was probably the same as above, bought it for the White Sox collection and already had it.

1980’s

1987 Topps – Lee Guetterman

I have 523 cards from the 1987 Topps set.  Pretty good action shot for a pitcher card.  Actually a defensive action shot, either that or the catcher threw back a horrible throw.

Bennie Daniels – 1959 Topps

This card actually came up with the 1960’s on the last post before I realized it was from 1959. The card says rookie stars of 1959 which usually means it was printed the next year. I figured it out before I posted it though.

Dave Stenhouse – 1965 Topps

I always liked the 1965’s, I think I like the flag. I tend to like all the sets that they used those. I also like having a card of a team that is no longer in existence. I know they moved, but they are no longer the Washington Senators.

1970’s

Joe Torre – 1976 Topps

This card is a little (just a tad) miscut so eventually I will replace it. I’m not a huge fan of this set, if they would have stuck with the team colors at the bottom instead of random, I think it would have been a lot better.

1980’s

Bob Brenly, Chili Davis, Bob Tufts – 1982 Topps

This card brings back memories. I remember when it was one of the cards you wanted because it was a Chili Davis rookie card. Back in the day, I probably had 8 or 9 of those.

PC pick-ups for last week

I found out that I get 2 weeks off at the holidays.  Yeah!  The bad news is I only get my holiday pay for those 2 weeks so for 2 weeks, I’m getting very short checks.  So I have suspended my Ebaying for a couple of weeks so the posts will get smaller, if any at all.  I assume I’ll still have a few cards trickle in so there will be a post, just smaller.  I will still try to do the random vintage posts, maybe an extra 1 or 2 until the beginning of the year when I can get back into the full swing of things.
