Hail Cesar!

Just a quick post tonight.

I picked up this color parallel of Cesar Ruiz in the dollar box at Shipshewana. It's my 5th card of the former Wolverine, including the base Optic of this card.

3rd baseman on the 3rd work day

Sox were on TV today but I didn't get the chance to watch it yet. I saw Dylan Cease pitched, who pitched well his last outing and Texas didn't score so I assume he did well. I haven't read on it yet but I do plan on watching it tomorrow.

Speaking of the White Sox, let's flash back 17 years to the summer of 2005 where this guy was a big component to our championship team.

I picked up this numbered rookie of Joe Crede in a dollar box which with all the cards I picked out, got discounted to about $.78. I haven't picked up many Crede cards in awhile because they are harder to come by.

This is my 172nd card of Joe.

Parallels

My cousin text this evening and said we got some tables at the Fort Wayne show. I'm looking forward to that one because it has high foot traffic and I think we'll do really well. The last few shows we've done we didn't make much money but they are smaller shows. We have a show this weekend which is probably our favorite show. It's very small but we do well with the dollar boxes because there are a ton of kids. It's a very family oriented show and we always have a good time. We have a good time at all the shows, it's nice to interact with other card collector's and all the sports talk is great. With what I've spent at the last couple of shows, I'm in a hole and have to work a couple of shows to get caught up. It's too easy to spend money when it doesn't actually come out of your pocket.

As you know, I organize my posts by who I have to post about and who I haven't posted about the longest so it wasn't a surprise when this card popped up already.

I knew Jarrod Wilson would be quick because I only have 1 card of his and he only has 1 card with 13 parallels. As I said, it's only my 2nd card, out of 14 though, I'm almost at 15% already. I picked it up in a dollar box but I bought enough that they discounted my stack and it came out to $.78.

Tommy Sunday

I finally got my cards logged and scanned so I'm ready to go again for another round. Just a quick hitter tonight, it's an auto that I've been looking for awhile and finally stumbled on at the card show yesterday.

I paid $6 for this Tommy Henry auto, it's numbered to /99 and he's in the Maize and Blue which makes it even better. I've been hoping to come across some Michigan baseball autos.

This is only the 6th card of Tommy Henry.

So close to 200

Sluggo and I went to a trade night last night before the card show today in Shipshewana. This is getting to be a pretty huge show, I believe it was advertised as 180+ tables and it definitely has the foot traffic. We've been on a waiting list to get tables for awhile now and are still waiting. Anyways, I spent $42 last night on a half price box and I only picked up 8 cards. Then today, I spent $40 on a dollar box but I got 51 cards for that price. I also picked up a couple of autos for another $10. Plus, I got a player lot as a throw in that I ended up needing 3 cards so it was a pretty good day. I also bought a MacFarland figure of a hall of famer for $10.

We also hit the LCS on the way home. I didn't spend any money but I came home with another 10 or so cards. I spent too much at the card show so I just shuffled through a couple of dime boxes while my cousin was shopping. He spent enough money that the guy just through the dime cards in for free.

I started logging them today, but didn't get them done. I'll finish them tomorrow and scan them so I can start posting. Don't worry thought, I still have a few other things to show until then.

I have 9 posts left before I enter the ones I just purchased and out of those 9, only 1 of them I didn't pick cards up for this past weekend so I'll post that today so I don't have to post any players twice so close together.

Those top 3 all go to the vintage collection as well. The middle 3 are all the canadian versions. The 1987 Fleer is the glossy version.

I also picked up some 80's oddballs. The Donruss is one of those oversized cards, I believe it's 3x5 or close to it. The right side is a Fleer sticker and a Fun Food pin.

These are the 90's cards I picked up of the Lefty.

2000's & 2001's. I always loved those club 3,000 cards.

2002's & 2003's. It's always odd to see Carlton in a Cardinals jersey, that was definitely before my kid collecting days.

All 2004's. I like the look of that Leather & Lumber card on the bottom right.

2005-2009. I really like the bottom right again, I wish they would have found something to put on the right side of base cards. Maybe even a facsimile signature or something. I like the relic cards more because they use that open space for the relic.

2010-2014. I wish those top 2 corner cards were the vintage versions. Certainly not a fan of the Goodwin Champions sets where they show them in everyday clothes. They're just weird.

I like the black border on the top left and the bottom center with the red background with the powder blue uniforms. You see another 1967 copy in there as well.

2019-2021. Oh look, another 1967 copy.

These 55 cards give me 197 cards of the lefty. I guess I should have picked up 3 more of him this weekend to get me to 200. I should of made it 3 White Sox cards since I didn't get any up there.

Both made it

Michigan made it to the Sweet 16, both Men and Women, both are playing Villanova. The women already won their game so they've moved on. The men play Thursday night. The teams are vastily different as the women are a 3 seed and the men are an 11 seed. It's the men's 5th straight sweet 16. Sorry, it's March Madness and nobody wants to hear about work.

Today's post is a fairly newly appointed coach to the football team. You might recognize him from when he played though.

It's only 1 card. I picked it up at the last card show we set up at. It's a blue wave refractor. It's my 99th card so one more for the century mark. Maybe I'll pick one up this weekend.

We are heading out to a trade night on Friday and the big show on Saturday. The Shipshewana show is at 180 tables, some famous YouTube guys will be there (I don't follow those) but he's been there before. We're on the waiting list for a table so maybe the next one. They only do 3 or 4 shows a year but every one gets bigger. There is more space at the venue but the host has a bunch of stuff upstairs in storage so hopefully they'll move it before the next show and we can get some tables.

I brought home some more cards from Sluggo's over this past weekend. I spent my show money picking up a bunch of Sox cards so now I got more to log and scan but I probably won't get to those until Saturday night or Sunday.

Finally

We officially have baseball back. The Sox had split squad games yesterday (didn't play today) and won them both against the Cubs. The game I got to see had Andrew Vaughn hitting the first pitch he saw out. He was the only starter in the game. Liam Hendriks pitched an inning as well. Also got to see Jordan Nwogu for the Cubs, he didn't start but he got a couple of at bats.

Speaking of White Sox, let's see some.

My 3rd card of Yermin, who's still with the Sox and my 59th of Rodon, who's no longer with the Sox. You should recognize the Gallery as you've seen them in the last couple of posts. Sluggo opened a blaster of them.

I ran across this in our dollar boxes when I was sorting in some newer cards.

Sluggo also opened some 2022 and hooked me up with all these cards (and 1 PC card). All base cards except the Royal Version of Crochet who I'm hoping to see a lot of this year. I think I read that he's going to be taking the long reliever roll that Michael Kopech had last year since he will be starting this year. Gavin Sheets as well, I'm hoping they find a spot for him starting as he did well last year. That's my 1st rookie card of Sheets but I have 4 other Bowman from a few years ago.
