  1. Nice collection of vintage! Was inspired by Crowley's action card to look up the situation. Based on the play, he's about to be tagged out at home by Thurman Munson, trying to score on a grounder to third in the 5th inning on June 29, 1972. Turned out to be significant, as it protected New York's 4-3 lead (and eventual final score).

    1. I've got a lot of respect for the few of you who take the time to figure out the play. I always loved reading posts on how they narrowed the play down.

  2. ...and more fully researched at the Fleer Sticker Project, with an alternate photo of the same play!

Was Terry Crowley safe or out on his 1973 Topps card?

    1. Thanks for another blog to follow. Apparently this card has been done a number of times. The "Fleer Sticker Project" refers to a post on the "1973 Topps Photography" blog and in the comments is referred to a post on "Orioles card 'O' the Day". Apparently it's a popular card.

Sorry about the word verification, but blogger sucks at filtering out the comments as of late. As bad as their last update is.
