This will be my last post for a bit. As I said before, last weekend was really busy and I never took the time to get on Ebay and this week has been catching up. I do plan on bidding on stuff again, probably this weekend, but I don't have anything coming after these 2 cards. At least for a week or 2.
We'll start with a virtual dime box pick up for the Baseball collection. I think that's pretty good for $.10/shipped. The corner was bent a little when I got it because it was only in a penny sleeve but those are the chances you take when you bid on free shipping. Very few sellers actually send them with just that though so it's usually an easy risk.
I also picked up this 1989 Topps sticker, this is just the back and that was how it was advertised so I was surprised that it still had the stickers on the front. Not that I needed those but I'll take a sticker back of Cal for $.25/shipped.
Welcome
This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Catch-up Post
I have another catch up post. My oldest kids were here for the weekend for a wedding and I was busy Thursday through Monday and then a couple of days to recover because I'm not used to actually having to leave the house on my days off. Oh yeah, and my anniversary was Tuesday, probably should throw that in just in case the wife stops by (won't happen.)
I picked up this 2018 Ripken for a quarter/shipped. It is my first of his from 2018 and my 419th different card of his.
I picked this up for $3/shipped. I don't really follow Sale anymore so I'm not sure why I still collect him, but I haven't quite made that decision yet. He's finally getting his shot at the playoffs and he should do well since he had time off from an injury because he usually fades at the end of the year. This is my 141st card of Chris.
This is one of those hugely thick cards. I picked up my 8th card of Caris LeVert for $1.99/shipped. It is numbered to /25 as well so I think it was a pretty good pick up.
This is my 9th card of Jake, the 4th autograph. I think I mentioned last time I picked up his card that since he's injured again, I've been picking up more of his cards. This one came to me for $2.25/shipped.

Postage Due?
2 more cards in 2 more envelopes today. One came with $.21 postage due. The mailman delivers it then expects me to pay it, which I don't. I have already told him to return to sender, I don't care if it is under a quarter, I purchased it with free shipping, not $.21. Now that I type this out, it makes me sound petty but it annoys me. Almost as much as it annoys me when they tape the top loader to the inside of the envelope. Don't get me started on that.
I debated on adding these buybacks to my collections. I'm not going to count it as a Vintage collection but I will the White Sox collection. I figure I'm paying less than a quarter, is it really gonna hurt to buy them. I paid $.22/shipped.
Another Denard relic, I've been picking these up more consistently now that he isn't playing anymore. I picked up this relic for $2.25/shipped. I like the card, the no borders helps.

Non Player Collection Cards
I didn't have much left coming to me but apparently, everybody sent their stuff on the same day. I received 4 envelopes with 4 cards today.
Picked up this card for the Baseball collection out of the virtual dime box of Ebay. The pic doesn't really show it but it is die cut.
I was surprised to win this card for the Michigan collection. I have a/some Jake Long autos but I'm pretty sure they probably came from Dennis. I picked this up for $3/shipped.
I wasn't surprised to win this as it's a pretty generic card of the late 90's but I was happy to because while I have a ton of Frank Thomas, I don't have many relics, or at least I don't think so. I don't have a player collection of him but with all those 90's inserts, I'm pretty sure if I did, he would compete with my Konerko collection for the most cards and it's over 400. I did pay the max bid of $3/shipped for it.
Last but not least, I picked up another auto of Matt Davidson who is pretty much our current 1st baseman/DH. I like him and he can crush the ball, but he's pretty inconsistent so far so I keep hoping he gets better there. Although the inconsistency has paid off for me as this is my 4th different autograph of him. I picked it up for $2.25/shipped.

Dennis Weekend, Baseball Edition
Welcome to the 2nd and final post of the cards that Dennis gifted me this past weekend at the Michigan game. Check out yesterdays post for the 1st one. While yesterdays was all Michigan related, it was also all football and basketball. Today, we'll show all the baseball.
We'll start off with the 1 White Sox collection card I got. While it's nice and shiny, as well as numbered, it is Albert Belle. It's still needed though so we'll take it.
I thought I had this when I went to look up since I had 6 different cards of his from this set, but I didn't. This is my 357th different card of Tom Terrific but only my 2nd one picked up this year.
This shiny card is my 447th different one of Konerko. As much as I like seeing Paulie in black, I don't mind his Dodgers or Reds cards as I don't hate those teams either.
Dennis always hooks me up with this player and the next as we both collect them. These 4 cards of Cal make that ever growing collection at 423 different cards.
This would be the other Michigan Man I mentioned in the last post and as you can tell, Dennis hooked me up. He got me base, inserts, shiny, oddball and even a "big" card. These 17 cards put that collection at 185 cards.
A big thank you to Dennis for the cards and for being my date for the game. Be sure to check out "Too Many Verlanders" and "Too Many Manninghams"

College Football Saturday
As you may, or may not know, Dennis and I got together to at the Big House for the Michigan game last weekend. He gave me a nice stack of cards in person since I saved him all that postage. Since I didn't get any cards in the mail today, I'll split it into 2 posts so they aren't to picture heavy.
Since it's college football Saturday, we'll start with the Wolverine cards.
All 3 of these guys had pretty good careers in the pros but they all started at Michigan. You should have heard of all these names before considering they have 33 years experience in the pros and Henne is still playing, well, still on a team.
You might have heard of this guy too. I love getting cards of him in the Maize and Blue. This is only my 5th of his and all are years after his draft in 2000.
Next we'll get into the player collection cards of former Wolverines.
This is my 6th card of Martin and is my 1st pro card. This is also the 1st card that I've gotten of his in the last 2 years so I was definitely happy to see a card of him.
This is my 9th card of Trey, almost in double digits. It's also the 1st card of his that I've received this year. I thought I would be able to pick his cards more quickly but they seem to be out of my price range.
This is my 8th card of Jake Butt. I expected him to have a pretty good pro career but in his 3rd season now, he has missed 2 of those with injuries.
These 2 cards of Stauskas give me 11 of the Canadian. I really like him when he played for Michigan.
These 2 cards make 7 of Wormley. Oddly enough, I started his collection off with 4 straight autographs and then the last 3 have been base cards.
These 3 cards make 43 card of Shoelace. I've been picking up his card pretty well this year, only had 2 last year and these 3 make 8 for this year. None of my pick-ups were as nice as that last one though. That is a sweet looking card.
That's it for this post, I do have another Michigan Man but you'll see his cards in tomorrows baseball packed post. Be sure to check out "Too Many Verlanders" and the better "Too Many Manninghams"
Since it's college football Saturday, we'll start with the Wolverine cards.
Always like receiving cards of the Fab Five, they were the team that put Michigan on my personal map and started my love for the Wolverines.

This is only my 3rd card of Big Mo. I'm going to love him proving wrong all those idiots who passed on him in the first 4 rounds. He was a beast at Michigan.
