Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

80's love

I mentioned in my last card, non birthday or music, post that once I get close to my budget on Sportlots, I check my shopping cart to make sure that I'm buying at least 4 cards from each seller. When I open the sellers page, by default, it goes to whichever sport they have the most of (usually baseball) and their oldest cards listed. Sometimes I'll open it up and it'll have 80's cards listed so I'll look and see what they have.

I picked up these 3 from a seller. I know it's nothing exciting since it's 1986 Donruss but they bump me over 500 cards to 501 for that set which is just over 75% completed.

I only needed 2 cards from this seller and grabbed the top 2, then I saw the bottom 2 and grabbed them as well. The Brett was $.35 but the Parker was the minimum at $.18. These 4 give me 466 cards which is just over 70% completed.

Unlike the other 2 sets, this one isn't as far done but I've been picking up some here and there lately. I do enjoy this set as 1981 was when I first started buying packs. I didn't get a bunch of Donruss but I do remember opening some of them up. These 4 only give me 106 cards which is just over 16% completed.

My cousin sent these 12 cards from the early 80's. I won't bore you with what percentage each set is at, all of them are still under 10% completed.

1979 Topps ($1.25)
1976 Topps ($1.25)
1972 Topps ($1.25)
I was shopping with Sluggo and was jealous that he was buying cards so I probably overpaid on these but that's alright. I save enough money on the majority of the cards I purchase so I can splurge a little.

New Additions - Vintage Collection 1973-1974

This round of cards have all been randomized, let's get to today's cards.

Apparenty Random.org doesn't want me to show you guys any player collections, this is the 4th straight non-player collection post. Today we are looking at the Vintage Collection additions from 1973 and 1974.

I mentioned that Doug had a bunch of vintage, what I didn't mention was that he was closing soon when I got there so the only thing I really looked at my lists to pick up were 1973, 1981 and any White Sox vintage. I did manage to grab these 2 which now puts my 1973 Topps set at 64.39% completed.

I also mentioned before that my cousin was trying to complete the 1974 set now that he's completed the 1973 set so he sends any dupes from that set my way as well. These 10 cards put the 1974 Topps set at 22.28% completed. He's quickly bumped this one up to 151 cards.

Check out My Personal Collections (now with over 2600 cards) and My Baseball Card Obsession (now with over 3300 cards and over 1000 different card labels and 1625 players).

New Additions - Vintage Collection, 1983

*For those new to the blog, all purchases were made on Ebay (unless otherwise noted) and all were under $.50/shipped.

I'm listing Ebay stuff but also I got an awesome package from Dennis over at "Too Many Verlanders" and my favorite "Too Many Manninghams", although you'll see a lot of that great stuff on the TMM blog whenever I get that post together. I also received 2 huge packages of mainly White Sox cards from Jeff over at "2 x 3 Heroes" as well and both guys also sent a bunch of vintage. I'm also randomizing the posts so let's see what's next.

2 more John Mayberry's and 2 more to the vintage collection from Dennis.

Jeff added 14 more to the Vintage collection, representing all 3 major brands in 1983.

I even managed to pick up 2 more for the Fleer and Topps set from Ebay.

In case you're interested, the reason I pretty much always post pics of single cards is because of these 2 blogs that I use to store my cards. My Personal Collections and My Baseball Card Obsession.
