On a Lark

Today, you get a Hall of Fame shortstop who didn't play for the Sox, but he did play for Michigan.

We'll start off with a Pacific from 2000 that Dennis sent me. I would have guessed that I already had it but apparently not. I probably had it back in 2000 and am remembering it. This was only 1 card of a bunch that Dennis sent me.

These 2 more modern cards I picked up at the card show in Warsaw. I like both of these no bordered cards and they aren't overused shots. Plus a vintage look and a Stadium Club chrome, you really can't go wrong.

These 3 cards give me 695 cards of Barry. I know I have more down on my desk from that Sportlots box that just came in so we'll see if I can hit 700.

Morado Pantera

That title is your Spanish lesson for today. I had to Google it though so it's probably wrong. The words are correct, but the structure is probably wrong. That is where I failed in Spanish class (almost 30 years ago).

I'm sleepy today, just trying to get through the week and start my week off work. Last I heard, Thursday is my last day this week and then I'm off until the 11th. I plan on watching some live baseball so it would be really nice if they could get on a win streak and play better than they have recently.

This guy has been doing very well though. He hasn't really found his Home Run swing but he's hitting everything hard and getting on.

I picked up this one from Sluggo awhile back, nothing too flashy but it is a Chrome which is always nice.

I grabbed this mini at the card show in Warsaw. I didn't pick up a lot at that show but I didn't find this rookie mini of Robert for a buck.

I got this at my LCS, also for a buck. A nice non airbrushed, non-licensed card. I always prefer when the angle doesn't take off logos. Although, I'm guessing they probably had to take a little bit off the helmet.

Last but not least, I picked up this purple parallel of his 2022 Topps with the Rookie Cup in the half off box from Hollister. I only paid a couple of bucks which is probably too much for a card that my old eyes can't even read the name of the player.

These 4 cards give me 74 of La Pantera. Slowly getting to that century mark which, to be honest, when I started picking up his cards, I thought I'd never see.

Losing the window

Win 2 of 3 against the Blue Jays (a good team) and then lose 3 straight against the Orioles (a bad team). I feel like the White Sox are just wasting their "window" with this really talented team. I know injuries are a part of it but they are still fielding a decent team with the injuries. I'm over our manager too, not that I was ever really a supporter. I'm hoping they fire him and that sparks the Sox that I know they can be.

Today's post is one of our studs who is struggling as of late. I'm not too worried, I think he'll figure it out being as horrible as he was when we got him and the way he turned it around. I just hope it's before we're completely out of a chance at anything.

I got this out of the dime box at my LCS which means I basically got it for free because they usually get tossed in with my cousins bigger purchases.

Fred brought me this Optic of Lucas that I didn't have.

I picked up this green parallel of the Aces inserts from Mosaic at my cousin's, he received it in a shipment of cards that he bought from a guy in NC.

These 3 give me 161 cards of Giolito.

Duncan 3's

It's only fitting that I get an NBA player today after the NBA draft last night. I know I need to add some more players to my searches since we had some draftees. Today's player has gone from Division III basketball to the NBA with a stop at Michigan. He's actually made a name for himself.

I picked up these 3 color parallels at the Shipshewana show from Hollister. I always get a ton of color parallels from him. He's a sharp shooter, and has a great 3 point percentage but what makes him good is his quick release, you can't leave him alone. These 3 give me 16 cards of Duncan.

He is Iron Man

The Sox were going for a sweep today against Toronto but it's not looking so good as they are on right now and down 7. Starting tomorrow, the Orioles come in to town and today's post has the guy you think of when you hear the Orioles name, or at least for us older guys and gals.

I picked up these from Sluggo, the top one is a 2007 subset. I have others so I just took a shot that I didn't have that one. I only have 3 of the 50 in the set. The bottom card is a 2020.

The next 3 I picked up at my LCS on 2 different occasions which explains the 2 different scans. The top 2 came from a dime box and the bottom from their dollar box. That top left card folds out, that's why his name is covered down the right side of the card.

This sticker came from Dennis of Too Many Verlanders. I don't think I even have any stickers from that set as it doesn't even look familiar.

Last but not least, I picked this up in the half off box from Hollister at the last Shipshewana show. It's serial numbered but it's a pretty high one. I only payed a couple of bucks.

These 7 cards give me 810 cards of the Ironman who has my highest amount of my PC's and I think I have a bunch more if I ever ship my Sportlots.

Today's post is a current MLB'er who played for Michigan and is having quite a bit of success. I've enjoyed picking up his cards, it's nice to have a guy who's getting a bunch of new ones as well.

I only got one to show today but it's a rookie card at that. I've been picking his up pretty quickly. This one gives me 24 cards of him now. I need to find me an auto before his prices go up even more.

A Few Sox Cards

I'm back from the annual Father's Day camping trip. I have a lot more mosquito bites and I have to work tomorrow but it could be worse. My son got me this shirt for Fathers Day.

I can't wait to wear it to my next card show. I only came home to 1 Sox game to watch since we only beat Houston once so there's that. Not sure if that's a positive or a negative.

I added these 3 out of the dollar box at my LCS on my last visit. I mentioned that I also picked out some autographs of players that I needed to get.

I picked up my first auto of Michael Kopech. I had picked out one in his Red Sox jersey but when I found one in a White Sox one, I swapped them out for obvious reasons.

These 4 cards give me 81 cards of the budding superstar. I'm still not sold that he's going to have a great career but he certainly has the stuff for it.

Oft Injured Bowman Holiday

Another quick post. This coming weekend is Father's Day which means I'll be camping. We're leaving tomorrow so I need to pack. I also have to do a birthday post that'll pop up while I'm gone so let's just get to it.

I picked up this card at the Warsaw show. It was in a dollar box. I mean, it would probably be worth a lot more if he was in a White Sox jersey.

I also picked this up at the LCS. I don't remember grabbing it but Sluggo and I put our cards together when we pay to get a bigger discount and then I go through them in the car and separate them. I don't know if he picked it out and I thought it was mine or if I picked it out. Who knows? Just don't tell him and all will be fine.

These 2 cards of the oft injured Eloy give me 116 cards of him.
