PWE Sox

I love the title of the blog"It's Like Having My Own Card Shop" because when I was a kid, that's what I though about all my cards. I was collecting to have every card out there and that's what I thought card shops should do. Have any and every card available. As I've grown up, that view has obviously changed. I would still love to have every card out there but that's just not feasible. It's hard enough getting the ones that I need for my collections.

Daniel from the aforementioned blog, had posted a 1973 Topps want list and I sent him a few. I think it ended up being about 5 or 6 and I threw in some mascot cards of Southpaw that I had. I told him he didn't need to send anything back but that's not the kind of bloggers we are, are we?

I received a PWE from Daniel with some Sox cards needs.

I needed 6 of them as you can see above. A purple Alex Fernandez (44 cards) from classic as well as a couple of Bowman (Zack Erwin-2 cards & Tyler Danish-12 cards). I like receiving Bowman I don't have because I hate trying to find them with a couple sets that all share the same subsets. I hate Bowman. The Ron Karkovice (44 cards) is the Cyberstats parallel. I was surprised I didn't have the Dan Pasqua (33 cards), I have a bunch of the 1992 Pinnacle's but apparently not that one. Last but not least, Daniel sent this gold Update of Jose Abreu (131 cards), I like the action shot on that card.

Mostly Sox Sunday

It's been almost a week. It's not that I haven't received cards, it's been that I've been lazy. Sorry. So this is a catch up post. All but one of the cards go to the White Sox Collection.

I picked up all these from a seller that had a bunch of 1990 Score. I, of course, bid on the White Sox cards that I didn't have and this is what I came up with. I only paid $.05/shipped for all but the Thigpen ($.20/shipped) and the Guillen ($.25/shipped.)

I picked up these 2 in a lot of 2. I paid $.26/shipped for the lot so only $.13 for each card. I thought I had some other Update from 2017 but apparently not as these were the first 2.

I also picked up this card of Barry Larkin, it's from 1997 Pinnacle Mint. I'm not positive on why there is a hole in it. I would guess they have cards with coins and some without. I don't know, just an uneducated guess. This is the 146th card for that collection.

New Additions - 1990's White Sox cards

This round of cards have all been randomized, let's get to today's cards.

White Sox Collection (1990's)

My cousin sent me 1 Sox card from the 1990's and this CD-Rom card he gave to me while I was visiting him a month or so ago. I'd put it in my laptop to see what comes up except that I have a chromebook and it doesn't have a disc drive. I had never seen these before. They are just a little bigger than an average card.

Tom sent me a bunch of 1993 Upper Deck along with this 1998 Pinnacle coin of Frank Thomas. I had to steal the photo from COMC because I couldn't get a unblurry photo of it. He knocked the 1993 Upper Deck team set all the way down to 4 cards in one shot. One of the better Upper Deck sets in my opinion.

Kyle sent me all of these early 90's White Sox cards. The 1990 Topps knocked that team set down to 2 cards and the 1992 cards put that team set down to 2 as well. 1993 on the other hand, I still have a little ways to go.

Dennis only sent one White Sox card from the 1990's but it was a huge card. It's the size of a folder but it's an actual card, it even has the back of the card (stats) in this huge 1997 Pinnacle Zenith card. They Tyrone Wheatley card on the left is an actual sized card. Holy hugeness!
