Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

One of a few Robinsons I collect

My cousin wanted to go to the LCS today so I tagged along. While I love going to card shops, I love to look at all the cards, they aren't really my thing. I find prices are always cheaper online and as we all know, I'm cheap. He picked up a few things and actually picked me up a couple of cool cards. I've been doing some work for him so he said this was his payment, which I'm more than happy with. I've added them to the random so you'll see them when they come up.

Today's post, however, is a Michigan PC and it's only 2 cards so it'll be a quicky. I decided to do each post by player so if I have 100 cards of said player, you'll just get a big post. By doing it this way, when I add cards to the random, I can just add them to the cards I already have of that player or team.

These are both 2014-15 but you get 2 different teams which he's had quite a few but he's still playing so there is that. The Hoops on the right is actually the red back version.

I thought I had some more cards of his but they ended up being his dads. They were from a newer set and I should have known better but that's the price of buying on Sportlots and not taking the time to do the homework.

These 2 cards give me 9 of GRIII.

Big Mail Day Thursday

It was a big mail day today, I came home to 5 envelopes on the recliner. 5 envelopes with 7 cards but less talk, more pictures.

2015 Topps Archives Silver
Picked this card up for $.53/shipped. Not a bad card, especially since I didn't even know they did these with other colors. Oh, and it's numbered to /199 as well.

2008 Upper Deck O-Pee-Chee

Like the Archives above in different colors, I didn't know of this set either, or insert set I should say. I grabbed it for $.17/shipped. Obviously, both of those cards go to the Ryan Zimmerman collection and brings that collection to 74 cards.

2015 Panini Prizm
I managed to pick up another Ripken, the scan or picture is blue tinted but the card is more gray and silver. This Cal card puts that collection at 227 cards.

2015 Topps Chrome Prism Refractor
I was surprised to get this card but maybe his face was scaring away other bidders. I grabbed this Chris Sale for only $.32/shipped. It is my 103 card of the Sale collection.

2015 Bowman Prospect Yellow
I do bid on just plain ol White Sox cards when they tickle my fancy. I liked this one because of the yellow border. I guess I have a fetish for colored borders. I picked this one up for $.54/shipped for the White Sox collection.

2014 Donruss Elite Turn of the Century autograph
This card didn't scan or photograph well at all, all that gold at the top is actually green. Like I said yesterday, I've been putting max bids of $3 on autos. I picked this one up for $1.99/shipped. He has pitched for the Sox for a few games a year for the last few years. I think he was even called up for a game earlier this season already so he has to be on the bubble to staying in the bigs.

2014-15 Donruss Elite Die Cut Autograph
I was really surprised to pick this one up. I even went a little over my budget limit of $3 and won it for the minimum bid which ended up at $3.44/shipped. This is only my 5th card of Glenn Robinson III and it's my 2nd auto but it is my first of his in a pro uniform. As you can tell up there, it's also numbered to /99.

February Additions - Burke, Robinson, Funchess, Robinson, Hardaway and Stauskas

This months pick-ups come from
  1. Jimmy at S.Mack Talk
  2. Ray at All Cardinals All the Time
  3. Sluggo (my cousin)
  4. JustCommons.com
  5. COMC.com
  6. LCS - Media Madhouse
  7. LCS - Just Cards
  8. Ebay
  9. Packs

I've randomed and todays selection are going to multiple players collections.

2015-16 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Old School Colors ($.75)
Really love the look of his card. I'm going to have to look and see if they have any more Michigan players in the Old School Colors set.

2013 Fleer Retro ($.49)

2013 Bowman Black ($.48)

2013 Bowman ($.35)
These 3 Denard cards put that collection at 24 cards. By far the biggest player collection since I went and added a bunch of Michigan alumni to my player collections. I'm pretty sure he's the only one in double digits of cards.
2015 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Game Day Tickets ($.52)

2015 Panini Prizm Collegiate Draft Picks ($.75)
With his super bowl appearance and a couple of really good games in his rookie season this past year, his collection is gradually moving on up recently. These 2 cards put his collection at 7 cards. I picked up my first card of his at a card show in October and all the rest have come since the new year.
2014-15 Upper Deck Letterman ($.81)
2014-15 Upper Deck SPx ($.75)
These 2 cards only put this collection at 4 cards and they are all in the Maize and Blue so there's that at least.

2013-14 Fleer Retro 1992-93 Rookie Sensations Auto ($5.99)

2013-14 Upper Deck SP Authentic ($.75)

2013-14 Fleer Retro ($.49)
These 3 cards put his collection at 6 cards. I actually have a couple of pro cards of Hardaway jr since he had a decent rookie season. I haven't heard much from him this year but I don't really follow NBA much other than watching an occasional Bulls game. That is my first autograph card of his as well, even at $6 when I saw it, I wanted it since he was in the Maize and Blue.

2014-15 Upper Deck SPx Finite Rookies ($1.25)
I really don't run into any of his cards very much. This is only my 2nd card of his, both of the Maize and Blue variety.

2013-2014 NBA Hoops ($.50)
I did manage to get one card off of Ebay. This card (along with the top one) puts my Burke collection at 5 cards and a few of those are pro cards as well.

January Pick-Ups - Multiple Michigan players

This months pick-ups come from
  1. Dennis at "Too Many Verlanders" and "Too Many Manninghams"
  2. Sluggo (my cousin)
  3. Ebay
  4. Packs (I actually bought some packs)

I've randomed and todays selection are going to multiple player collections. I've decided to throw a bunch of these Michigan cards in one post so I'm hoping to get through January pick-ups before February ends. Most of these are from the Michigan Wolverines collegiate set from Panini that Dennis sent me.

This is my 2nd card of Robinson III.

This is my 3rd card of Burke and my first in the Maize and Blue.

This is my 5th card of Martin.

This is my 2nd card of Stauskas.

This is my 2nd card of Gallon.

I received my JustCommons package today, I haven't even opened it, I'm going to save that for when I go to scan the February Pick-Ups, hopefully this weekend so I'm ready to go in March.
