Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

More Maize and Blue

We've had a bunch of 1 player posts this month and even 1 team post. Today you get a bunch of players in one post, of course, they all have a team in common as well.

I picked up another Iggy from Sportlots. This is only my 5th card of his but the collection is slowly coming along. I grabbed it for a quarter.

I also received another card of Shoelace, and a pretty slick looking one as well. This is my 53rd card of the former Wolverine QB and pro RB, WR or whatever else he played.

This Rashan Gary card is only my 4th card of his, it's been a little slower getting his cards.

I also received another Funchess. Like Robinson, his collection has really moved along as this is my 43rd card of him. All of the last 3 cards came from Dennis of "Too Many Verlanders" and they are all pretty good looking cards.

This card may look familiar because it's a variation (Silver) of one I showed last month. Those would be the only 2 cards I have of Hudson but they are both at least have the winged helmet. I picked this up for a quarter on Sportlots.

These are the first 2 cards of Graham, one of the many Glasgow brothers to play for the Wolverines. These are 2 different parallels, shine and flight, I picked them both up on Sportlosts, the shine (left) for a quarter and the flight (right) for $.35.

I picked up 2 more of the undrafted Shea Patterson as well. This gives me 4 of him. I picked them up at $.30 and $.50 on Sportlots.

Also grabbed 2 more of DPJ giving me 3 of his. I really like the gold versions of the these Leaf Draft, probably because it goes with the Maize and Blue jerseys so well. I picked up these 2 for $.25 and $.18. Not sure how Patterson cards cost more but they were all cheap in my book.

This new blogger sucks ass. I can't tag nothing with the labels unless I scroll through all the labels. I start typing it out and then when it comes up, click on it. That check mark gets erased as soon as I start typing the next name. Plus, I need to add a label. I type it out, I click the create new and then when I back back out, it's gone. Anyone else having issues or am I just an idiot? I'm going to scroll through and click everything, publish, edit and add a tag, publish, edit, blah, blah, blah.

Starting the week off right

Even though it was a crappy Monday at work, I started my week off right at home. With an envelope with 4 cards in it.

Actually I started my Monday off right first thing this morning when I checked the score of the Michigan baseball game because it was still going when I went to bed. They won! They're in their first College World Series in 35 years. Go Blue!!!

Anyways, back to why you're here.

I picked up a few White Sox from the 2014 Bowman Chrome. I paid $.24/shipped for the Kussmaul, $.27/shipped for the Austin and $.33/shipped for the Fry. I wish I did better at knowing which Bowman I have and don't have so I didn't have to search just to figure out which set in the Bowman that they are.

I went to log this card in and thought I already had it but I have one of the other versions in Red. I only paid $.42/shipped for it and it's my 46th different card of Shoelace.

College Football Saturday

As you may, or may not know, Dennis and I got together to at the Big House for the Michigan game last weekend. He gave me a nice stack of cards in person since I saved him all that postage. Since I didn't get any cards in the mail today, I'll split it into 2 posts so they aren't to picture heavy.

Since it's college football Saturday, we'll start with the Wolverine cards.

Always like receiving cards of the Fab Five, they were the team that put Michigan on my personal map and started my love for the Wolverines.

All 3 of these guys had pretty good careers in the pros but they all started at Michigan. You should have heard of all these names before considering they have 33 years experience in the pros and Henne is still playing, well, still on a team.

You might have heard of this guy too. I love getting cards of him in the Maize and Blue. This is only my 5th of his and all are years after his draft in 2000.

Next we'll get into the player collection cards of former Wolverines.

This is my 6th card of Martin and is my 1st pro card. This is also the 1st card that I've gotten of his in the last 2 years so I was definitely happy to see a card of him.

This is my 9th card of Trey, almost in double digits. It's also the 1st card of his that I've received this year. I thought I would be able to pick his cards more quickly but they seem to be out of my price range.

This is my 8th card of Jake Butt. I expected him to have a pretty good pro career but in his 3rd season now, he has missed 2 of those with injuries.

This is only my 3rd card of Big Mo. I'm going to love him proving wrong all those idiots who passed on him in the first 4 rounds. He was a beast at Michigan.

These 2 cards of Stauskas give me 11 of the Canadian. I really like him when he played for Michigan.

These 2 cards make 7 of Wormley. Oddly enough, I started his collection off with 4 straight autographs and then the last 3 have been base cards.

These 3 cards make 43 card of Shoelace. I've been picking up his card pretty well this year, only had 2 last year and these 3 make 8 for this year. None of my pick-ups were as nice as that last one though. That is a sweet looking card.

That's it for this post, I do have another Michigan Man but you'll see his cards in tomorrows baseball packed post. Be sure to check out "Too Many Verlanders" and the better "Too Many Manninghams"

Weekend catch-up

This is a catch up post because I've gotten cards the last few days but hadn't posted them. I have various collections represented today.

We'll start with a couple of Bowman Heritage cards I picked up for a dime/shipped a piece. These go to the new Baseball collection which is anything that's not in my other collections.

I found this searching dime cards but it goes to the Vintage Collection. I picked it up for $.13/shipped. I'm always happy to grab 1981 Topps because I'm over 75% complete.

Now for the player collection portion. I picked up this Gary Carter from this years Archives set. I nabbed it for $.23/shipped. I've been bidding on a bunch of these Archives cards for my player collections but have only won a couple. This is my 116th card of Gary Carter.

I picked this 2018 up for $.25/shipped. It's my 96th card of Zimmy, slowly closing in on that century mark.

It's not a player collection but I grabbed it with the Zimmerman card. This White Sox collection card of the currently injured Abreu came to me for $.23/shipped. I only need 4 more players for that team set, but apparently they all have different versions so I need 7 more cards.

I picked up both of these Maurice Hurst's for the player collection as well as the Michigan collection. His cards are starting to come down, I've been bidding on his for awhile and just starting winning some. I've managed to get 4 of Mo so far. Both of these were $.34/each/shipped.

As you can tell, Denard's cards have come down as well. I picked up the triple relic card for only $2/shipped and the autograph for $3/shipped. Both great prices if you ask me. These 2 cards give me 41 cards of Shoelace.

Last but not least, I picked up this relic/auto card of Caris LeVert for only $3/shipped. This is my 7th card of LeVert and sadly, none of them are in his Wolverines uniform.

11 card Saturday

I would say that I got behind again but to be honest, I got a bunch of stuff in on Saturday. It's like the post office kept everything and delivered it at once.

I got 11 cards in 5 envelopes so let's get started.

I picked up these 3 O-Pee-Chee cards for $.25/each/shipped. I didn't have any from the set so it's a start.

I picked up these 5 cards from the same seller. I didn't have any of these Walmart Holiday cards as well and apparently after these 5, I only need 2 more for the set so yeah me. I picked them up for $.15/shipped, $.18/shipped, $.21/shipped and 2 for $.24/shipped.

Keeping with the White Sox collection theme. I also picked up this Abreu from 2018 Donruss but it's a black & white photo variation. I picked it up for $.25/shipped.

Now vearing off into Michigan players, this is a player collection though but I picked up this card of Shoelace for $.23/shipped. It's my 35th card of Denard.

Last but not least, I added this autograph of Jason Avant to the Michigan collection for $3/shipped. It is my 7th card of Avant in the Michigan collection. Avant had a pretty good pro career so I wasn't expecting to win this for $3 or under but there you go. That's why I put bid on cards even if I don't think I'll win.
