 We set up at the Michigan City show today. It was the first show there and we were a little worried when it started but about an hour into it, the traffic started picking up. We did alright and made some more connections. One with a dealer we met at the past South Bend show, he's going to start a show in Mishawaka, we're all about the local shows. Much less travel, unlike Lansing next week.

We also bought a couple of dealers low end boxes so guess who has more boxes to sort. I'm hoping to finish up my cards tonight so I can get to sorting those next week after work.

Today's post are my Tier 3 collections. Starting with one my fairly new ones.

These 3 Larry Bird cards (all featuring other players with him) came from the Man Cave boxes so they were freebies for sorting.

Speaking of freebies, these were from sorting the cards from the LCS. I remember the USA set from back in the day.

I picked this up from Hollister's box that we bought so I paid a couple of bucks for it, I do like the shiny stuff but I'm not sure about this one. It does look better live than scanned.

I picked these up at the South Bend show, they also came out of boxes that we bought. I ended up giving Sluggo some cash for them so they weren't freebies but I definitely didn't pay much.

These 11 cards give me 71 cards of Larry Legend, it has grown quite a bit since I started it in January.

These were all freebies for sorting for the LCS. A little mix of old and new in there.

These were all freebies from the Man Cave cards.  I don't particularly like his cards in other uniform's because I really only remember him playing for the Sox.

These 11 cards give me 53 cards of Darryl.

Again, we have new & old of Gooden also from sorting for the LCS. That '86 Donruss at the bottom is the Holo Purple parallel.

These 3 came from the Man Cave sorting, all 90's goodies.

This was offered to me at the Zeeland show and I may have overpayed but I thought I might as well knock off my first auto. He bought some blasters from us and gave Sluggo some cards he was selling and this was one of them. Although the picture doesn't show it, it's one of those clear cards, plus it's an on card auto

These 9 cards give me 46 cards of Doc.

Photo Cleansing #12

Before the Photo Cleansing commences.  Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.  Although I haven’t been around a lot lately, I am definitely thankful to all of you.  For the trades, the chance to read your blogs, and just for bringing my love cards back to me.  I have a lot to post in the next week or so, been getting a lot of trades in, plus free cards and contests winnings, some ebay purchases and some group breaks.  Eventually I’ll get everything scanned and caught up.

But seriously, on to the pics.  We are going right to the vintage pics today.

I just don’t follow the NFL closely enough to find a bunch of pics of those, when I do, it’s Colts pics and lets face it, we don’t really want to discuss them this year do we?  But we can discuss the Maize and Blue as they go into the Ohio game.  Yes I know there is supposed to be State after that, but I’m taking Brady Hoke’s stand in never calling them that.  And I hate when former cheaters, err, I mean students say they went to “THE” you know, university.  Arrogant bastards,  Sorry!  Anyways, here’s some pics.

Photo Cleansing #4

We’ll start with a little NCAA football.

Has everyone seen the retro jerseys for the first night game in Ann Arbor this season.  They aren’t as bad as I initially thought they were going to be after the “leak”.  It’ll be better if it leads to a win for the maize and blue but all in all, I can tolerate the jersey for 1 game, I guess.

Just thought it was a cool schedule.  I see it as a big poster in my man cave, if I had one that is.
Next for some baseball.

Good ole Paul Konerko.  He has been on fire for the last few season after most of his years in Chicago have been spent cold as ice until June then heats up.  It seems he has gotten over that the last few seasons and came out of spring training ready to go.

Brent Lillibridge has also been on fire and has come from nowhere this year.  He’s still a supersub off the bench officially.  But his defense and surprising offense has put him in the starting line-up most days anymore.  A guy who has had 3 total home runs in his major league career coming into this year already has 7 this year.  And has been making defensive plays as well. One Chicago sports writer mentions how many saves he has this season, defensively.  How can Ozzie keep him on the bench, he can’t.  He’s had 88 at bats already this year.  His previous high was last year at 98 at bats.

I’m sure you’ve all heard about Gary Carter so I won’t go into it but he was a favorite of mine growing up.  I’m not sure where this came from, I assume a NY paper but I don’t know for sure, it probably isn’t because of the prayer line but I’ll guess it all the same.  Either way, I thought it was pretty cool.
And we’ll finish of with some NBA.

Larry Legend.  Also a favorite of mine growing up.  Probably the whole I live in Indiana, he’s from Indiana thing.  Been to his restaurant quite a few times down in Terre Haute.  It’s pretty cool.  And they have food too!

One thing I like about the whole who’s better discussion between Michael Jordan and LeBron James is all kinds of photo’s and video’s being thrown out on the web again.  I know they are out there, but I’m too lazy to go find them, I prefer they get posted on other sites for me to steal.  Much easier that way.

I remember most of these if not all of them.  I used to watch tons of Bulls games.  I probably watched 90% of them in their entirety back in the day.
