Thank God it's football season because I can't watch the White Sox anymore. After 8 straight losses, they finally won today. I gave up weeks ago, apparently they did too. I don't even know if I'm going to watch the game from today. One more week and I won't have to worry about the season anymore. I'll just have to sit back and see who stays and goes for next season. I've already read where LaRussa won't be back so that's the first step.
On to better things, It's now Michigan season. The fall and winter sports are Michigan football and basketball (men and women). I don't really watch the NFL or NBA, can't stand them to be honest. I would watch baseball and even softball if they would ever play it on the Big Ten Network.
Today's post is another guy who I thought left too early. I seem to think that a lot so I'm not sure if I'm upset that they are leaving or if it's true. A few guys have proved me wrong but not many.
This is only my 3rd card of DJ even though it's technically a sticker.

I said yesterday that I had to scan a bunch of cards of TCDB when I updated recent pick-ups, today's post you'll see a bunch of them. As a matter of fact, all but 1 of his cards I had to scan.
The show promoter at Plymouth, who we see at other shows, has season tickets to the South Bend Cubs. He's always posting pics of his kids with some of the players so I asked him to pick me up a team set because today's player post is on that team. He ended up picking me a number of his cards.
I received my Sportlots box today, it has around 170 cards in it if I remember correctly. I don't remember if I made it down to Nwogu on the list, if I did, there might be some more in there.
I took some time this morning to catch myself up on the cards I've had come in in the last week. I got a few from Fred as well as some I picked up yesterday at the show even though I wasn't going to buy anything. The bad part was I ended up having to scan over half of them for the TCDB so it took longer than I was hoping. That also means I got some good cards if there weren't that many images yet.
You don't get to see any of those today though because the random said so. Today you get a Michigan player collection who I haven't added to in just over 2 years.
This is only my 5th card of James Bourque but it puts me in a tie for the most of TCDB. He only has 43 listed so that would be why.
The show today went pretty well. A lot of dealer's struggled to get their table money back but we were easily over 1k so we did pretty well. It was the first show at this venue and most of the dealers took it in stride because it was a good atmosphere and most signed up to come back to the next one.
Michigan didn't play as expected today but it was still a win so we'll take it. Definitely room to grow. Blake Corum was pretty much unstoppable. He's reminding me of my favorite UofM running back but with more speed.
Today's post is yet another started player collection. He's another Michigan guy who just went pro last year and this is the 1st card of him that I've gotten.
This is my first card of the Professor. I'm always amazed at how much he grew as a player in his years at Michigan. When he started getting playing time I couldn't figure out why he was there but as a Junior and Senior, it was obvious why. Such a great college player and I really liked him. Last I heard, he signed a summer league deal with the Pacers.
For the record, Eli's PC is my 108th player collection.
I went over to to Sluggo's today after work to help price cards. We have a show at a first time venue tomorrow in South Bend. We've set up with the couple who are running it and we got a bunch of the dealers that we set up with at other shows to set up there so I think it will be a fun show as far as the dealers go. We will see how well the turnout is though. I think the Mishawaka show is done now. The guy that runs it, who is a great guy, but he doesn't have the patience to start a show and run it until it gets good. He started it and every one he has, he expects it to be like the National. We have given some advice but he doesn't seem to listen to any of the dealers. There was supposed to be a show last weekend and most of the dealers quit on him and he didn't have enough. So I'm hoping the customers that usually came to that show will come out to the South Bend show.
My cousin is quitting his job at the end of the month and is going to do cards full time so we are going to start doing more shows, probably travel a little bit to do some. Right now we have the next 3 Saturdays schedule and then 2 weeks off and then a couple more. We may fill up those 2 as well but we'll see. I'm looking at it like a part time job since we are down to 40 hour weeks, it'll supplement the OT that I usually get. I'm excited for him and even a little scared. He's braver than I am, I don't have the balls to quit a guaranteed paycheck and survive on week to week income that could change.
Anyways, today's post is about a guy who's about to come off the IL but you might as well let him take the rest of the year off. Although not mathmatically eliminated yet, the Sox are pretty much eliminated after getting swept by Cleveland. Than in a month or so, the worst part about loving a team starts. The offseason. Not because they don't play but I worry all winter long if some of my favorite players will end up on other teams before next season.
These 2 cards give me 154 of him. That puts me in 5th place of his cards on TCDB but I'm still 81 cards out of 1st. I do have a box coming from Sportlots but I know there won't be that many cards of him in there. I'm buying a little different now so I spread out the players instead of so many at one time of one player.
