Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

5 in a row

I've been knocking out the posts this week. Here I thought next week I would be knocking them out since I'm having surgery on Monday and will be home for the next 2 weeks. This will be my 5th day in a row posting. I must be sick.

As you can tell from above, today's is the 1980 Topps set. These also all came from the Facebook purchase that Dennis hooked me up with. Really like the Quisenberry rookie and the Astros jerseys (even if everybody is hating on them these days.) You also get the Niekro brothers in a post.

This is just a sampling of the 122 cards that I received for this set. It now has 311 cards for just under 43% complete.

January Pick-Ups - Vintage Collection (1986)

This months pick-ups come from
  1. Dennis at "Too Many Verlanders" and "Too Many Manninghams"
  2. Sluggo (my cousin)
  3. Ebay
  4. Packs (I actually bought some packs)

I've randomed and todays selection are going to the Vintage Collection (1986)

1986 Topps ($.12)
1986 Topps ($.12)
1986 Topps ($.12)
1986 Topps ($.12)
1986 Topps ($.12)
1986 Topps ($.12)
1986 Topps ($.19)
1986 Topps ($.06)
1986 Topps ($.13)
1986 Topps ($.17)
1986 Fleer ($.14)
1986 Fleer ($.19)
These 12 cards from 1986 aren't terribly exciting I know, but I needed them all and as you can see, I didn't pay much to begin with.

I finished scanning on my February pick-ups yesterday, I still have to crop them all to single card pictures which I'm going to do today. You'll still see some January pick-ups into March because I haven't finished those yet. I'm hoping to have enough time to do a January and a February pick-up post each day until the January is done. I have a lot of cards for the February Pick-Ups because it was tax time so I went to a couple of places and picked up a lot of cards, cheaply. Plus I finally found a somewhat local card shop and I bought a few cards there as well. I'll talk about that later.

New Additions - Vintage Collection, 1985

*For those new to the blog, all purchases were made on Ebay (unless otherwise noted) and all were under $.50/shipped.

I'm listing Ebay stuff but also I got an awesome package from Dennis over at "Too Many Verlanders" and my favorite "Too Many Manninghams", although you'll see a lot of that great stuff on the TMM blog whenever I get that post together. I also received 2 huge packages of mainly White Sox cards from Jeff over at "2 x 3 Heroes" as well and both guys also sent a bunch of vintage. I'm also randomizing the posts so let's see what's next.

Jeff added these 11 cards to the vintage collection. The 1985 Topps in my collection are a little more plentiful as I'm now at 129 cards where as the Fleer and Donruss I'm only at 23 and 24 cards.

I even managed to pick up 10 1985 Topps cards on Ebay. I don't remember how they came about but I would hazard a guess that it was a lot or possibly 2.

I only have 4 more of these posts to go, 2 players, 2 vintage, before I can do my grand finale on Too Many Manninghams with all the Michigan cards that Dennis sent over.

In case you're interested, the reason I pretty much always post pics of single cards is because of these 2 blogs that I use to store my cards. My Personal Collections and My Baseball Card Obsession.
