Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Random Cards #74

I'm back. The surgery went well, I have no pain and haven't touched my pain meds. I do get constant bloody noses every time I stand up and it runs some when I have my head down as well so it makes it difficult to sit at my desk. Not to mention that my son uses my card room during the day (I'm usually at work) to do his online schooling. So today you get a post that I don't have to leave the recliner for.

Lots of stuff posted that I had no info on, only 3 Sox cards and a bonus autograph. Ended up with some pretty good cards up there I think. As you can see, I got rid of the baseball collection and added the new team card collections section to go with the new collection. I also added how many cards were in each collection under the titles, that was easier info to come up with since I changed my Google sheet over and have each collection in it's own tab.

I got a Sportlots package in yesterday but I haven't opened it yet. I'll probably do that today as I can do that from my recliner but I won't be able to scan or log them until I can put my head down a little and sit at my desk and scanner.

New Additions - Vintage Collection 1973-1974

This round of cards have all been randomized, let's get to today's cards.

Apparenty Random.org doesn't want me to show you guys any player collections, this is the 4th straight non-player collection post. Today we are looking at the Vintage Collection additions from 1973 and 1974.

I mentioned that Doug had a bunch of vintage, what I didn't mention was that he was closing soon when I got there so the only thing I really looked at my lists to pick up were 1973, 1981 and any White Sox vintage. I did manage to grab these 2 which now puts my 1973 Topps set at 64.39% completed.

I also mentioned before that my cousin was trying to complete the 1974 set now that he's completed the 1973 set so he sends any dupes from that set my way as well. These 10 cards put the 1974 Topps set at 22.28% completed. He's quickly bumped this one up to 151 cards.

Check out My Personal Collections (now with over 2600 cards) and My Baseball Card Obsession (now with over 3300 cards and over 1000 different card labels and 1625 players).

Ebay puchases

I received my COMC Black Friday purchase in the mail yesterday but I haven’t gotten around to scanning them yet, I know, your shocked.  So let’s get some Ebay purchases out of the way, since I may not use it much anymore.

All these are additions to the White Sox collection.

ebay-81topps50

Picked this up for $.50 shipped.  I still need one of these for my 1981 Topps set but I always fill my Chicago White Sox needs first.

ebay-80topps50

I got this at $.50 shipped as well.  I don’t think I have too many cards from the 1980 set.  And I’d have to say that none of the were future “stars” for the White Sox or anyone else.

ebay-vincenteromo50cents

Wow!  Not a pretty fella.  I got this for $.50 shipped as well.

ebay-71toppsebay50each

Bet you can’t guess what I paid for these?  Yep, your right, $.50 each shipped.  I won these and a bunch of other 1971’s from a seller and when I went to pay, I noticed his address was where I am.  So we ended up meeting in a parking lot at the local mall and picked up my cards.

ebay-64toppslot

I won this lot for $1.53 which comes to $.51 each.  I don’t have hardly any 1964’s so I was happy to get these.

I hope you haven’t been turned off by all the 1973 Topps and 1981 Topps posts, just trying to get them out of the way so I can focus on new stuff when I get them.  I have a couple more Completed Team Sets posts to nail out too before I get to my COMC purchases because I completed a few more team sets with that.  As well as adding to some of my vintage player collections.

Purchase & more from Ted

I bought a bunch of 1973 Topps for my set collection from Ted over at “Crinkly Wrappers”,  He just finished his ‘73 set so he checked out my want list told me how many and set a great price for me.  It was a huge boost to my ‘73 set.  Big thanks for that Ted.

I fill my player collections first, then team collection, then my sets.  So all of the above White Sox, even though are ‘73’s are going to my team collection.  So I still need the above for my set.

Ted is an awesome guy because he threw in the following cards as well.

I thought I had most of the 2010 Upper Deck’s but apparently not.  I needed all of the above for my team collection.  I always love team cards and the oddball Post Frank Thomas.  Great cards.

He also sent me a small stack of Colts cards which included these 4 Peyton Manning cards for the Manning player collection.  Great to still see him in a Colts jersey.

Thanks again Ted, you’ve been a huge help to my ‘73 set.  Be sure to check out “Crinkly Wrappers” and hit Ted up for a trade, he’s great at them.
