Below the Mendoza line for 2022

Today's post is a player that I've almost reached the Mendoza line (google it if you don't know) on cards that I've added to his collection this year, the same year that he retired.

One of two of the 582 Montgomery's that I got from my LCS that aren't White Sox.

I found these 3 going back through the base cards that we sold, not sure how I missed them the first time. The bottom one I understand as it's not his card but he's on it but the other 2, I'm not sure. I'm guessing I was mainly looking for White Sox cards so I skimmed right past them. Doesn't matter, they're here now.

These 4 give me 384 cards of Zimmy but as far as my post title is concerned, I've added 194 of him just this year, which is just below the Mendoza line.

Lots of the Same

Watching some boob tube before the Michigan basketball game starts tonight and figured I could knock out a post.

This former Wolverine has some pro cards but not many and most of what I have are parallels of one card.

This would be one of those parallels. This is the On Demand Mini of James Bourque. It's my 5th version of that card and I only have 6. He only has 43 cards listed on TCDB and 24 are versions of this card, 15 versions of a Bowman Chrome auto and 4 different minor league cards. So basically, it's not surprising that I have 5 of this card. The one bonus is those 6 cards have me at #1 on TCDB.

I figured I'd pop out a post real quick while I'm killing time before going to my mom's for lunch and my sister-in-laws for dinner. I just finished watching the Michigan basketball game from yesterday. It went better than their last one but I'm still not sure how good they are going to be.

Today's post, however, doesn't have anything to do with Michigan which is rare these days.

Again, you know the story behind the 582 Montgomery's that I picked up at my LCS.

These 5 however, came from Sportlots, all with the Nationals. I don't think it really even looks like him, he looks so young.

These 6 cards give me 169 cards of Lucas which keeps me in 1st place on TCDB by 30 cards.

the Grass and the Sky

Since this guy retired, it makes all of my tier 3 players retired. Although, now that I think about it, all my tier 1 players are as well but weren't when I first started collecting them. The majority of my tier 2 players are modern players (mostly).

Anyways, I was pretty sure I got these from Dennis but when I uploaded the pic, I was confused. When I scan the cards, I name them PCName.WhereIGotIt. For some reason, I went to upload the pic, it said I got it from Ripken.

The pic should have been named Zimmerman.Dennis but instead it was Zimmerman.Ripken. I mean, it would have been cool if Ripken sent me cards but I would also think I'd remember that. 

I have the base and the gold version but those aren't numbered. Both this green and blue are. These 2 Zimmy cards give me 381 cards of him. Another shout out to Dennis of Too Many Verlanders for hitting yet another player collection.
