Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Two Tues-day

Today's post is a guy that I thought I would never have this many cards of. Mainly because he never really made the pros so I wasn't expecting very many cards to be made of him but yet, here we are.

I picked up these 2 at the show in Shipshewana. Probably a $1 box but I don't feel like looking that up at this moment.

This one I grabbed at the show in Fort Wayne, it's very colorful. This is the green and yellow parallel, it's numbered to /149.

The nice thing about never playing in the pros is all his cards are in the maize and blue. These 3 cards put my Patterson collection at 11 cards.

Sorry Fred

Fred won't like this post, he said I post too much Michigan stuff. Notre Dame fans always jealous. What's funny is he gave me this card so he can't complain too much.

I've gotten way more Patterson cards than I thought I would have considering he never played in the NFL. The good thing is since he never went pro, all his cards are in his Michigan uniform. This is my 8th card and in case you didn't see it, this is the red Press Proof.

Post draft cards

On the day after the NFL draft, the random gave us the only NFL cards in my collections. Former Michigan players in the NFL. I think I read where 8 players were drafted so that's 8 more player collections for me. What remains to be seen is which players get more than just draft cards as a lot of them tend to do. Let's get to the players that I have already started PC's for. All these were purchased at the card show.

We'll start with the only NFL jersey in today's post. I picked up this Frank Clark Green Prizm card that is pretty cool looking in hand. It is only my 3rd of Frank.

I guess I shouldn't have said PC's that I have started before as these 3 cards of Josh Uche are my first of him. No, it's not dupes on top, the right card is the green parallel. You'll notice his name is in green.

I picked up this auto of Zach Gentry as well. It's only my 2nd card of his. Can't say much about the autograph though.

Another contenders auto. Say what you want about Panini but at least they show college uni's, that's enough for me. This is my 3rd card of David Long.

The one guy who didn't get drafted and is no longer in the NFL (he signed with the Chiefs but was released), is the guy I have more cards of. This is my 7th card of our former QB.

Congrats to the 8 other players who join the ranks of the NFL.

Blue is back! Almost.

Hey, you finally get a non White Sox post which is great because we've sucked ass this week. The great random in the laptop must sense my feelings so he's giving us a break on the Sox cards. We're also getting something that has been ramping up and getting ready to start. The last Michigan post were new player collections. These are the players I already had cards of.

Obviously I wasn't talking about Michigan baseball starting up so I'll get these out of the way first. These 2 give me 4 of James Bourque, sadly, 3 of those are different versions of this card. The other is an auto so there is that. I just checked TCDB and he basically has 2 pro cards. The auto that I have and this one, and 37 different versions of those 2 cards. These are the rainbow and gold version.

This is my 3rd card of Tommy Henry. The other 2 are his Bowman Draft cards so why not go forward with a minor league card from this year.

These 4 of Devin Bush give me 5 as I only had 1 other before. The top 2 obviously go with the Michigan collection as well. I thought I would be able to grab more of his but he had a pretty good rookie season so his cards have gone up.

Shea's cards, however, aren't too hard to pick up as he barely dipped into the pro pond and I don't believe he is even in it now. These 2 give me 6 of his cards. Not surprisingly, all his cards are in Michigan uniforms which is better for me but doesn't bode well for him.

I also grabbed 4 more of DPJ giving me 6 of his. All 6 are Michigan uniforms as well. Last I remember, he signed with Cleveland and as far as I know, he is still there.

So there's your break from Sox cards but don't worry I have plenty more to come. Especially when I get into the huge box of not only cards but other Sox items that Jeff (not me, 2x3 Heroes) sent me. I'm looking forward to getting more in depth with that box this weekend.

More Maize and Blue

We've had a bunch of 1 player posts this month and even 1 team post. Today you get a bunch of players in one post, of course, they all have a team in common as well.

I picked up another Iggy from Sportlots. This is only my 5th card of his but the collection is slowly coming along. I grabbed it for a quarter.

I also received another card of Shoelace, and a pretty slick looking one as well. This is my 53rd card of the former Wolverine QB and pro RB, WR or whatever else he played.

This Rashan Gary card is only my 4th card of his, it's been a little slower getting his cards.

I also received another Funchess. Like Robinson, his collection has really moved along as this is my 43rd card of him. All of the last 3 cards came from Dennis of "Too Many Verlanders" and they are all pretty good looking cards.

This card may look familiar because it's a variation (Silver) of one I showed last month. Those would be the only 2 cards I have of Hudson but they are both at least have the winged helmet. I picked this up for a quarter on Sportlots.

These are the first 2 cards of Graham, one of the many Glasgow brothers to play for the Wolverines. These are 2 different parallels, shine and flight, I picked them both up on Sportlosts, the shine (left) for a quarter and the flight (right) for $.35.

I picked up 2 more of the undrafted Shea Patterson as well. This gives me 4 of him. I picked them up at $.30 and $.50 on Sportlots.

Also grabbed 2 more of DPJ giving me 3 of his. I really like the gold versions of the these Leaf Draft, probably because it goes with the Maize and Blue jerseys so well. I picked up these 2 for $.25 and $.18. Not sure how Patterson cards cost more but they were all cheap in my book.

This new blogger sucks ass. I can't tag nothing with the labels unless I scroll through all the labels. I start typing it out and then when it comes up, click on it. That check mark gets erased as soon as I start typing the next name. Plus, I need to add a label. I type it out, I click the create new and then when I back back out, it's gone. Anyone else having issues or am I just an idiot? I'm going to scroll through and click everything, publish, edit and add a tag, publish, edit, blah, blah, blah.

3 New in Maize and Blue

You get a post, on my daughter's 18th birthday. Mainly because she's 18 now and wants to hang with her friends. Actually, it's because we had her graduation/birthday party on Sunday so we're not doing anything today anyways.

I put the last 2 posts for May on random and you get stuck with the non baseball portion. Not that it matters to me because they are still awesome cards.

You can never have too many of Anthony Carter and this is my 7th of his.

Of course, this guy is one of the few that can upstage AC. Love seeing Brady in the Maize and Blue and with the prices of his card, and my cheap ass, I rarely get to buy any. As a matter of fact, I just went and looked and out of the 8 cards I have, I only purchased one, in 2012. All of the above go to the Michigan collection, as do what's below, but the ones below are also player collections.

2 different versions of Shea Patterson. I really like when cards manufacturers put the Block M on the cards. I'm sure Shea won't have to many cards in the future, I'm kind of surprised he got any but there they are. Although I just looked and he already has 325 cards on TCDB so what do I know. These are my first 2 of his.

This is also my 1st card of DPJ and another with the Block M. Lots of shininess in this package.

Last but not least, Khaleke Hudson makes an appearance as well. No Michigan uni but he still has the winged helmet so it counts for the Michigan collection too. This is my 1st of his as well so you get 3 new player collections in this post.

One more post for my May pickups, hopefully tomorrow. Then on Friday maybe I'll finish getting all my June cards finished. Maybe!
