Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Dos Wolverines

Watched the Michigan men's basketball team today. They looked really good but with the way they looked last week, I'm not sold on them but at least they played well yesterday.

Since this will be a football post, I have to show this video my brother found of the current football season. It's called 2% to #2, which refers to the 2% chance we were predicted with to win our division to being ranked #2 in the playoffs. It's long, but a great video. I've watched it twice and teared up both times. That's a lot of 2's. Oh, and it's 22 minutes and 22 seconds long.

Since we are the number 2, I'll show 4 players that I have 2 cards to show.

Sluggo gave me these before last weekend. The Prestige on the right is the Pink parallel, even though it looks purple and yes, it still looks purple before the scan. These 2 give me 8 cards of Evans.

I got these 2 of Sean McKeon. The red Optic came from Fred at work while the Phenoms came from the card show in Shipshewana. These 2 give me 5 of the tight end which is pretty good considering I got my first in September.

These 2 of Kwity Paye, give me 10 cards which like McKeon, just started in September. That Score is gold, even though it looks Orange to me. The top card came from Sluggo while the Orange/Gold I picked up in Ft. Wayne at a card show.

Lastly, because he's my Tier 1 collection is our current running backs coach which in case you don't follow, have been very good this year. I picked up the Maize and Blue Hart at the Kalamazoo card show, it is numbered to /500. The bottom Score Red Zone is numbered to /100 and I picked it up on Sportlots. These 2 give me 74 cards of my favorite running back.

Red Thursday

Another quick post as I have to get to bed. I have to be at work at 4 tomorrow morning to teach a class at 4:30. I'm certainly not a teacher but they asked me to come up with this class to teach all the team members in our department on what exactly our line does. I'm not big on public speaking which is why I said I'd start with 3rd shift because it would be early enough the bosses won't be in and won't want to sit in. I'm already going to feel awkward enough.

It's also a quick post because it's only one card.

This is my 4th card of Sean McKeon, he went undrafted in 2020 but ended up signing with the Cowboys and is still there. As you can see, this is the red parallel from Donruss Optic. This was one of the cards that Fred brought to me at work.

New PC Month Continues

We seem to be on a roll with new PC posts so the great random in the sky decided to give you another. Only this time, it won't be of the White Sox variety.

Jeff Criswell pitched for the Wolverines up until this past year when he was drafted, he is in the minors with Oakland. According to TCDB, he only has 54 cards and it looks like the majority of those are from his stint with the USA team so it looks like his PC will start with those. The top 2 look like dupes, front and back, I purchased them both, one was listed as a retail version but they look exactly the same to me. They have them listed separately on TCDB as well so who knows. I paid $.18 for both of those and $.35 for the Longevity parallel.

Jake Cronenworth came out of the U of M in 2015 and has been working his way through the minors. He's now with the Padres and just won the Rookie of the Month for the NL last month so I'm guessing he'll start to get more cards produced other than the 37 that TCDB have him listed with. I paid $.30 for the black refractor and $.18 for the other 2.

Now on to the football start up collections. This is my first card of the former Wolverines safety. He gets decent playing time with Jacksonville as far as I can tell. I paid a little more than usual on this card. A penny more, it was $.19. He only has 14 cards on TCDB so I guess I'm lucky to find at least one.

I grabbed these photos from TCDB because apparently I forgot to scan them. My guess is I scanned them but they got deleted between transferring them from my phone to my laptop. Either way, these 3 cards are the first of his collection. It lists 137 cards on TCDB but it's basically 3 sets with a crap ton of parallels. I paid $.18 for the Donruss look a like, a quarter for the Score and $.50 for the Crown Royal, really like the die cut on those. His cards are all 2020's so maybe he'll get some more produced in the future.
