Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Dog Food Oddball

I got 1 card in 1 envelope today. It was just be weird to get 1 card in 2 envelopes. Even though it's from 1984, it doesn't go to the Vintage collection but it does go to a player collection.

I used to have a bunch of these dog food cards back in the day. I have been picking a few up here and there for my player collections. I grabbed this one for $.17/shipped. It is my 85th card of Steve Carlton and my 5th one of his this year.

80's cards with a Hall of Famer

I received a couple of envelopes with 7 cards in them. Seems like a lot for 2 envelopes but you'll see why in a few.

You would think since I'm over 75% completed on this set that I would at least have the White Sox team set but I don't. Even after this card, I still need another 8 cards to finish it. I did get this one for $.08/shipped.

I picked up these 6 from a set I didn't even know existed. As many as the seller had listed, I assume he probably had the whole set or at least real close to it but these were the only 6 that I won for under a quarter. I got 4 of them at $.06/shipped and 2 of them at $.16/shipped. These 6 puts the Yaz collection at 45 cards and I've actually picked up 12 since the beginning of the year, granted, half that was today.

80's oddball

1 envelope with 1 card today. Nothing terribly exciting today unless you like the oddball inserts from the 80's. Which I do.

I'm not sure what kind of Dream Team this is but whatever. I got this for a $.25/shipped.

Couple of days of cards

I know it's Sunday but I need to post the last couple of days of mail calls. I didn't post them on the days that I got them because Jeff over at 2x3 Heroes dropped a box full of cards on me and I've been getting them sorted and cataloged. All in all, it's 187 new cards to my collections so you can see why it took a couple of days. It'll take even longer to get them scanned so you won't see those for some time but let's get to the last 2 days.

On Friday, I got one envelope with 4 cards that all go to the Vintage Collection.

These 4 vintage cards, oddly enough, cost more the newer they were. The 1974 was $.15/shipped, the 1976 for $.20/shipped and the 2 1978 cards for $.23/each/shipped. The 1974 is my 157th card of that set. The 1976 is also my 157th card of that set. The 2 1978's put that set at 136 cards.

Yesterday, I got 2 envelopes with 3 cards. All White Sox collection cards but also 2 other collections represented.

These 2 cards were as cheap as they come. I paid 1 penny each, shipped. That's right, $.02/shipped for the above cards. They are only my 2nd and 3rd card for that team set and my 134th for that base set.

In the other envelope was this 2017 Donruss of Chris Sale. At least he was still in his White Sox jersey on this one. Not that there are any logos to prove it. This is my 124th card of Sale and my first of that team set.

Multi-Sport day

It's a Monday so it feels like a 4 card day, but let's mix it up. How about 2 baseball cards and 2 basketball cards. 2 player collections, 1 team collection and a vintage collection. Even throw in a relic card. Sounds exciting, let's get to it.

This is my 2nd Caris LeVert card all-together as well as the 2nd in the last couple of weeks. I picked this up for $.23/shipped. I'd like to get a LeVert in the Maize and Blue, both of them are in his pro uniform.

This is my 4th card of Nik Stauskas but unlike LaVert above, this is my 1st one in his pro uniform. I picked this one up for $.23/shipped as well, only it came in a 3 card lot with 2 other 76'ers that I don't need. Both of the above cards came from the same seller as well.

Now we're dropping it old school with a great pitcher in the 80's. I got this one for only $.14/shipped It is my 139th card of that set and my 111th card picked up for the vintage collection this year.

Last but not least, I got this 2005 Relic of Harold Baines for $2.49/shipped. I debated on bidding on that much because it's kind of a cheesy card but it is of Harold Baines so I said why not. This is the 67th card that I've picked up for the White Sox collection this year.
