Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Triple Thread Tom

It'll be a short week for me as tomorrow is the last day at work. I took Friday off so I could have Saturday off since we've been working so many of them. Tomorrow night I'm heading over to Chicago (not looking forward to that) to pick up my cousin (yes, the one that I trade with) and bring him home. He's here this weekend for a quick visit. Friday we are going to hit a card shop that I haven't been to yet and Saturday, we are thinking about hitting a card show. It's been forever since I've done either of those so I'm really looking forward to it.

On to today, it's been awhile since we've seen this Hall of Famer. I guess I need to rectify that right now.

2010. A couple Topps with a Turkey Red which are always vintage like and a Triple Threads which I have very little of. I was surprised to get a TT at under $.50.

2011. I remember buying packs in 2011 so I'm not sure how I didn't get any of these cards before. I feel like the base Gypsy Queen I got in a pack so it's bad that it took me this long to pick up the mini. Same goes with the Kimball.

2012. A lot from this year, starting off with a couple of high dollar sets with a Marquee and another Triple Threads. I like the Topps Archives sticker at the top right. A couple of inserts that were overdone along with a card that doesn't even have a photo. Finish that off with 3 mini's. Gypsy Queen, A&G and the Golden Age is a different back (Mini Broad Leaf Brown Ink.)

2013. A bunch for 2013 as well. An A&G insert and a couple more of the high dollar sets with a Museum Collection and another Triple Threads. 3 different Gypsy Queens and a Colgan's Chips from Panini followed by a Silver foil Chasing History and a Green Crystal Panini Cooperstown. Some pretty good cards there for under $.50.

2014. Finally, another Triple Threads. Maybe Triple Threads isn't as high dollar as I thought because I grabbed quite a few of a hall of famer for cheap.

I got one more post of Tom Terrific so you'll have to wait to see how many I added with this round.

I'll still try to post this weekend but I'm not positive I'll be able to so we'll see.

AJ Finale

This guys post really got separated by the random. It's been awhile since we've seen him but this is the last of him so there is that since most of you probably don't like him. He was voted most hated player awhile ago.

2003. A couple from the 206 set. Looks like smell the fart acting (Friends reference.)

2003. The Bowman portion is rather large but that's because I didn't have a lot of AJ with other teams, especially pre-Sox. The top is the base, gold and than the Chrome version while the bottom are 2 different from Heritage.
2003. A shiny Topps Finest, looks good with the blue background for a Twins card.

2003. Back when Heritage was doing the cards from the 50's. I prefer those over the 70's they are doing now just because I didn't see them as often growing up.

2003. Two different from Stadium Club, I don't have to tell you how awesome the no border SC cards are. The right is the gold version.

2003. Four different cards from four different sets, all with the same photo. Man, Topps really knows how to make some money with fairly little effort.

2003. Still miss this set, wish it wasn't an online thing now.

2004. Obviously, AJ was traded as these are all Giants cards. Do you think in the bottom cards photo's, AJ was seeing the future and see's that Championship season coming? I do like the old TV cards (Bowman Heritage).

2005. He's tired of waiting, he want's to get traded to the Sox because he knows what'll happen. I do remember picking up some of this set in packs. Must of been one of those psudo-returns to collecting. I had a couple of those. I probably didn't even know who AJ was back then.

These are the last of the AJ posts in this round, I added 43 cards of AJ so the final count is 158 cards with lots more to come in my next package. You'll get to see a lot of his White Sox cards which to me, are obviously the better cards.

PK Mini's & More

Well, I watched Michigan lose in the Big Ten tourney but I followed that up by watching the Sox win and that haven't done that much this spring so my teams swapped for the day. Bad timing on Michigan's part to do that, I guess. It's just a little more rest and practice before the big dance, that's what I'm going with anyways. Even if it is only a day.

Today's post are more of a player you've seen here a lot in the last couple of months. Don't worry, I still have one more in the future.

2010. I picked up the National Chicle as well as the parallel with the National Chicle back which is why you're seeing the front and back. I also managed a black mini from A&G.

2011. Ignore the stripes down the side of the Bowman Chrome, that's my scanner. A Finest card as well as another A&G, although this time, I already had the black and didn't have the base mini.

2012. Another A&G, except it's an insert (although, technically it has a mini on it) and another mini, but from Gypsy Queen this time.

2013. I like this set from the Hometown Heroes because I always liked the states portion in school but for a "Hometown Heroes" set, I think it should list their hometown state, now where their home field is. Most of us know where Chicago is. I would have rather seen Rhode Island there for PK. You also get another mini this year but off the flagship, even though it is it's own set and the one on the right is not a mini, it's a sticker.

2014. Only one card this year but it's another mini Gypsy Queen.

2015. This is the SP version of PK's card and you guessed it, another mini. I thought I had this SP but apparently they used the same photo for the chrome so that's what I was thinking of.

2017. You almost made it the whole post with a mini in every year but along with the Fire and Fire Orange, you get the 1959 reprint from Archives so even though it's smaller, it's not considered mini.

I didn't realize how many mini's I had until this post. As stated above, I have another PK post left before I'll give you my grand total in the PC, or you could cheat and look on TCDB but where is the fun in that.

I started this post last night but my daughter stopped by for a visit and I went to bed not long after she left so it got finished this morning.

Maize and Blue, and Blue and White

Started my evening off with the Michigan Big Ten tourney game. It was a little scary to start with, they were down 14 or 16 with 5 minutes (or something around there) left in the half and ended up going up by 2 at the break. It stayed close but they never let up the lead. I do need to go and read why Howard got tossed. He was pissed at something.

Since were talking about Michigan, the great random of the internet spit this post out.

We'll start off with with the Colts section of the 2008's. I'd be really excited if I still watched the NFL as they were my team. I like the bottom 2 just because I hate practice pictures. I mean the bottom 2 could be practice as well but if they are, they at least faked it better.

Now for the better portion of the 2008's, the Wolverine cards. They are all Press Pass or Sage cards so they get to wear their college uni's. The black border Legends card (top row, middle card) is my favorite because it shows why he hardly ever fumbled in college.

I did find one 2009, only my 5th from that year. The majority of my Hart collection are from 2008. These 12 cards give me 60 in the collection.
