Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

the Hard(a)Way

I thought I was doing a birthday post today but apparently, on my spreadsheet, I put his day of death as his birthday, oops! I guess it's a good thing I screencap the baseball reference because that's where I noticed that it didn't say happy birthday. So instead, you get a current NBA'r.

I just got these from Sluggo as part of working the last card show. That Purple Disco on the left is pretty cool. I do like the color parallels, I just hate that I have to get so many of them.

These 2 cards of Hardaway give me 86 cards of him which is by far, my biggest basketball PC. He doubles Trey Burke who is in 2nd place with 43.

A side collection

Just a quick post before I head off to bed, just wanted to share some cards that I won from Cards That Never Were. I'm not sure won would be appropriate, I think I just commented and came up first on his random. Either way, they are mine now.

I won a pack of his cards. These are pretty cool and the fact that he does these cards, prints and sells them are pretty cool. I'm a little jealous, this would be a cool talent to have.

I'm not a big football guy (pro) but I definitely know these guys, or at least know of them as they are some of the older players.

These cards are so cool and I love them but they don't fall into my collections. I'm definitely going to hang on to them for a bit. I do have an other collection where I keep odds and ends of cards that don't fit but I like. I did get one card that fits into my collection.

This is the insert that comes in the pack. While it doesn't technically go in the White Sox collection, I do keep cards of players with the Sox in college uniforms if they were with the team awhile or meant something to me. Obviously, the Big Hurt was a pretty big name and he is and continues to be associated with the team.

Post card show

Had a good time at the card show today. Wasn't as busy as the last one but we made some good connections for future shows including the big one around here. There's a waiting list that we've been on but we might have been able to get ourselves into the next show. The show we did today is in a church so it's really huge but it's more family oriented as it's more low end. Sure there are some guys spending some big money but there are a ton of kids which is always great to see. We sold more dollar cards today than we have in a long time because kids kept getting a couple bucks from their parents and then come back to our dollar boxes. It was a really good time regardless. It's probably our favorite show that we do.

I did pick up a few cards so they'll get added into the mix of cards ready to be posted. I'll probably get to that tomorrow but I didn't pick up anything of the guy I'm posting today. He's a tier 3 guy so there will be a bunch of cards.

All of the above came from Sportlots and I've gotten through the first couple of years for Zimmy.

I picked this one up at the last show we did. Nothing too fancy but I didn't have it.

These 5 are even more cards that came from Dennis. As always, his packages are big boosts to my collection. I like the green parallel on the Donruss. Dennis even added another relic of Zimmy. Check him out at Too Many Verlanders and get on his good side for some great trade packages.

These 61 cards boosted his collection to 192 cards. I will definitely go over 200 when I get the next package from Sportlots.
