I did get a few cards this week. I've been sorting 80's cards which is great for the nostalgic of it all but it sucks because I don't really need anything so I don't get much out of it. Or did I?
I did get 4 cards for my player collections out of it. As you can see, they are more oddball stuff which was why I didn't have any. I did also get a few that I'm not showing. A checklist from 1991 Fleer and a 1990 Score Eric King, both completed those White Sox sets. I also got a Gary Redus Mini (like the above) that I didn't have.
I did find one card from the 80's that I needed for the 1984 Fleer set.
That is my 622nd card from the set which is good for 94% complete.
Going through all those boxes (I'd guess around 30,000 cards), I was especially shocked (and happy) to find a box of 70's. It was a 4 row box, each row about half full. The rows were 1979, 1978, 1977 & 1976. Sadly, I already completed the 1979 Topps set so those meant nothing to me. The other 3 years were fruitful though.
I added all of those to my set which puts it at 86% complete with 623 cards.
I managed to pull these 19 cards for my 1977 set, these give me 588 which is good for 89% complete.
As for the 1976 set, I added the above which puts it up to 615 cards and 93% complete.
Usually when I sort 80's stuff, there are some random older cards mixed in here and there, that where these come in.
The 1973 card (551 cards) gives me 83% complete and the 1974 cards (548 cards) gives me 83% complete as well. The 1972's, 1971 and the card from the 1969 cards are all under 50% completed so I won't bore you with those details.
I also got a few team cards to go in that collection. The top 2 from the box, the other mixed in for the 1980's.
2 1977's and a team card from 10 years earlier with the 1967.
So this 80's sort ended up being pretty awesome for me. Without that box of 70's though, it would have ended up being only 12 cards added so I am definitely not complaining about that,
I got one more post from last week, we'll see if I get the time to put it up this week.
