Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

New Additions - Vintage Collection, 1986

*For those new to the blog, all purchases were made on Ebay (unless otherwise noted) and all were under $.50/shipped.

I know, I've been MIA again, but it took awhile to sort through all the cards I've gotten in the last month or so. Not only the Ebay stuff but also I got an awesome package from Dennis over at "Too Many Verlanders" and my favorite "Too Many Manninghams", although you'll see a lot of that great stuff on the TMM blog whenever I get that post together. I also received 2 huge packages of mainly White Sox cards from Jeff over at "2 x 3 Heroes" as well and both guys also sent a bunch of vintage.

I decided to post everything together on their respected collection posts. Although I didn't take pics of all the Sox cards because there was way too many cards. It took me long enough with everything as it was. I think I'll randomize the posts as well so let's see who's up first. The banner above the cards tells where the cards came from.

So Jeff added 19 to the 1986 cards of the Vintage Collection while I picked up 3 on Ebay.

In case you're interested, the reason I pretty much always post pics of single cards is because of these 2 blogs that I use to store my cards. My Personal Collections and My Baseball Card Obsession.

Vintage Collection

I picked up a bunch of vintage collection cards about a month ago.  What you won’t see here is I grabbed about 33 cards from 1980 Topps.  A seller posted a bunch of cards from the Texas Rangers and the Oakland A's, he started them at a penny and I figured I wouldn’t win but maybe 5 or 6.  Wrong!  Like I said, I won 33 of them and the majority of those were between $.40 and $.54 so it cost me quite a bit at one shot, which I don’t like to do.  Either way, I didn’t feel like posting every card of those, so I’m not.  I will post the other winnings though.

They are listed in the order that I received them.

Marty Keough

1964 Topps Marty Keough

A nice quarter box find, only grabbed it for $.25

Bobby LockeTony Cloninger

1968 Topps Bobby Locke and Tony Cloninger

I grabbed these 2 1968’s in a lot of 2 for $.55 total, so essentially, 2 more quarter box finds.

Darrel Chaney [Good to VG‑EX]

1977 Topps Darrel Chaney

I remember the lower case a’s they use on their hats.  I grabbed this one for $.46

Reggie Jackson

1985 Topps Reggie Jackson

I know, it’s only a 1985 Topps, but it’s Mr. October.  I think it’s still a nice pick up, even at $.49.

Dick SchofieldKen Suarez [Good to VG‑EX]

1969 Topps Dick Schofield and Ken Suarez

I grabbed these 2 in a lot and I grabbed them both for $.90, which is equal to $.45/each.

Bucky Dent

1982 Topps Bucky Dent (in Action)

I always liked the 1982 Topps set for sentimental reason but I thought these in action cards were the coolest when I was a kid.  I picked this one up for $.47.  I probably overpaid because it’s a New York Yankees card.

Allan Anderson

1987 Donruss Allan Anderson

I know, nothing too exciting, but I nabbed it for $.17

Otto Velez [Good to VG‑EX]

1979 Topps Otto Velez

I got this one at the awesome price of $.15.  The cheapest COMC has it for is $.99 so I’d say it was a good deal.

Vintage collection 1967-1968

I won 4 cards at a penny each from this seller but he had $.50 shipping, which was why I only bid a penny.   After I won them, I noticed he had a max shipping cost of $2 which I was already at, for auctions won for up to a week.  I went and bid on some more with a little higher bids since there was no shipping attached.  Let’s see what I ended up with.

Those are the 4 that I won for $.01 each with $.50 shipping on each card.  All are 1967 Topps.

Ron WillisCap Peterson

$.25                                          $.29

Larry Brown [Poor to Fair]

$.29                                                 $.25

Gary Sutherland

$.25

So I grabbed 9 cards from the 1960’s for a total of $3.37 which equals out to $.37/each.  Not too shabby
