Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

10 cards, 3 hits and 3 free

I got a few envelopes with cards I purchased and some I didn't purchase in those same envelopes. I got 5 envelopes with 10 cards total. Even the 1st card of another player collection that I've been waiting to start.

We'll start off with some White Sox pick-ups.

I picked up this card for a whopping $.06/shipped. This card makes that team set down to 2 cards.

I also picked up this relic of Adam Dunn for the White Sox Collection. It came to me for $1.25/shipped. I think I only put a max bid of $1.50, if your a Sox fan then your well aware of the failure of the signing of Adam Dunn.

These 2 White Sox cards make 183 picked up for that collection so far this year.

2 cards for the Ripken Collection. The 2016 Topps Archives on the left I picked up for $.20/shipped and the card on the right, well to be honest, I have no idea where it came from. I put it with this card because I'm just going to assume the seller sent it as a bonus card. These 2 cards put the Ripken Collection at 330 cards and are the 18th and 19th cards of his picked up this year.

This was a 2 card lot of Barry Larkin and luckily I needed both of them. I won the lot for $.50/shipped which puts them at a quarter each. These 2 cards put that collection at 123 cards and they are the 12th and 13th cards picked up this year.

These 2 cards actually came free as bonus cards with the following 2. This seller read my purchase to almost perfection. I say almost because with the 2 cards above, he also sent a Rich Hill card. Now if the Rich Hill was in a Michigan uniform, it would have been perfect. The Jake Butt is my 3rd card of his and the Jourdan Lewis is the 1st. So what did I get (that's obviously Michigan related)?

These 2 cards came in a lot as well. Since I don't have many Mitch McGary cards, I went ahead and put $6 on the lot ($3 each which is my max bid on relic/autograph cards). What was a nice surprise is that I won the lot for $3 which equals out to $1.50/each/shipped. These 2 cards put the collection in double digits at 10 cards. Oddly enough, 5 of those 10 cards are relics and/or autographs. These were the first 2 cards that I've picked up for the McGary Collection this year.

Random PC Cards

Wow! It's been almost 2 months since I did a random post. I've been slacking. I only had a couple of posts this week so I figured I'd throw one out there. Not to mention, I've been sitting on my ass all day anyways so I knew I'd have the time. I've also been watching my Sox beat up on the Tigers the last couple of days.

You would think since I hadn't posted much here that I've been posting on My Personal Collections but I've slacked on that as well. I did get some more up today and I'm just under 8,000 cards scanned and posted on there. I guess technically I have another day to post since there won't be mail tomorrow either.

I've definitely got more to come, I've just purchased 3 or 4 more relic/auto cards along with my usual pick-ups. Of course, my wife hasn't figured out that I went over my monthly budget yet, oops!

Anyways, let's get to it.

A couple of Sox

2 cards in 2 envelopes today. I had my first softball practice today so I'm wore out so let's just get to it.

I picked up this 1993 Topps Stadium Club for $.20/shipped. It was actually listed as a 1992 so I don't know if that helped me win it or not but either way, my win. This is my 151st Carlton Fisk for that player collection and it knocked off a card of the team collection but I'm a long way from finishing that. This is my 4th card of Fisk that I've picked up this year.

This is the only relic you'll see in the coming weeks, I always bid on relics if they are cheap enough but it seems like I win a bunch and then go awhile without getting any. This is one of those bunch times. I picked up this 2002 Fleer Flair relic for $1.99/shipped. I only put a $2 max bid which was apparently enough to bring it home. This (along with the Fisk) make 180 card picked up for the White Sox collection this year.

Even more 1980 Topps

I got some more cards and some more from the 1980 set. I got 2 envelopes with 8 cards total.

I got these 6 cards from the same seller that I've picked up a bunch of the other 1980 Topps cards that I've been showing lately. 3 cards at $.25/shipped, 2 at $.23/shipped and 1 at $.21/shipped. These 6 cards make 156 for the set and 213 cards picked up for the Vintage collection this year.

I also picked up 2 more Cal Ripken jr cards, err, pop-up, well, you know. The 1989 Score card I didn't think I had but apparently I do. I had it listed under Score Superstars and the seller had it listed as just Score and I didn't catch it. I only paid $.18/each/shipped (2 card lot for $.36) so it's not like I'm out a fortune. The addition of the 1 card puts that Collection at 328 cards.

10 cards, 3 collections

I didn't post yesterday even though I got a couple of envelopes. Then today I got a couple of more so I figured I better get off my ass and get them posted.

We'll start off with 3 cards for the White Sox Collection. The Gordon Beckham logo card I may already have but I didn't have it listed anywhere so I grabbed anyways. All 3 of these White Sox cards I picked up for $.15/shipped. These 3 make 179 cards picked up this year for the White Sox Collection so far this year.

These 2 cards (I know, more 1980's) I picked up for $.18/shipped and $.23/shipped. These 2 cards make 149 cards for the set. The Busby card is the first of a few from the Royals.

These 3 cards from the 1978 Topps set came to me for $.25/shipped, $.23/shipped and $.14/shipped. The cheaper cards were the Royals cards. That old Mariners logo though, I tend to forgot about the trident logo they used to use all the time. These 3 cards put that set at 139 cards.

Last but not least for the Vintage collection comes this card from the 1976 Topps set. I picked it up for $.16/shipped and it is my160th card from that set which puts me closer and closer to that 25% completed.

These 6 vintage cards make 207 cards picked up for that collection so far this year.

I also got to add another Paulie to the Konerko collection. I don't usually get to pick up a lot of his cards on the cheap. I sorta have this card already, only it's stamped with the Special Olumpic logo and also stamped 1 of 1. I don't know the story behind it but here it is. This card is my 419th different Konerko and my 9th card this year which surprised me, but I got a box of cards from Jedi Jeff so I'm guessing the majority of those cards came from that package.

Old and the new

I was going to do a random post today but I got sidetracked yesterday on adding more scans to my PC blog and forgot to post the cards that came in the mail. So instead, you'll get those today. 2 cards from 2 envelopes although one is from a seller that you've seen a lot of recently.

One seller has been listing a bunch of 1980 Topps as you've seen from the previous posts. I only won 1 of them this time but it's a good one as far as players go. I picked up this one for $.17/shipped and is my 201st card of the Vintage Collection this year. It's also my 147th card from that set.

I also finally won my first Jake Rudock. For those that don't know he was the Michigan QB last year. I keep hearing how he impressed the Lions but then they dropped him to the practice squad then later brought him back up. He is expected to be the backup to Stafford this year. I picked up this refractor for $.18/shipped.

1 card Thursday

Just one card for you today. This is a lull period where I didn't win a lot but I have the last couple of days so it'll pick up again.

I see his name and I think of his 1981 Topps card with the Royals. I'm not sure that I've seen this one before. This is my 146th card from the 1980 Topps set and my 200th Vintage Collection card this year.

Hall of Famer and Vintage

3 envelopes today and lots of Vintage. I guess we'll start off with the 1 card that wasn't vintage.

I grabbed this 1990 score of Barry Larkin for that player collection for $.01/shipped. Yep, another penny card of a Hall of Famer. It is my 121st different card of Barry Larkin and my 11th card of his this year.

I picked up both of these middle to late 70's cards from the same seller. I picked up both of these $.25/each/ shipped. The 1976 card is my 159th card of that set and the 1977 is my 100th of that set.

I picked up these 6 cards from the 1980 Topps set for between $.15/shipped to $.25/shipped. They give me 145 cards for that set and give me 199 cards picked up for the Vintage collection so far this year.
