He is the King

Kevin over at “the Diamond King” sent me an email asking for my address, he said he had cards that he wanted to get rid of and send my way.  Who am I to tell him no.  But I was shocked when I got the box, yes box, of cards he sent.  So much so that I’m breaking it into 2 posts.

Of course he sent me some cards for the White Sox Collection.  Some horizontal card.  Some great action shots of Joe Crede and Jim Thome.  And you can’t go wrong with a vintage like Scott Podsednik.

And some vertical cards.  I already had the Paul Konerko in the Paul Konerko Collection so this one goes to the Sox collection.  And of course you have Rockin Robin Ventura and Magglio Ordonez.  And on top of the modern cards above, he sent these.

All of these also go to the White Sox collection because I fill that one before I do the Vintage collection.

He even managed to hit one of my PC’s, who would have guessed I still needed a 1986 Topps card for the Tom Seaver collection.  While all these cards are great and needed.

Wait until part 2 tomorrow to see what else he sent me.

A Just Because package, I think

Um, I don’t remember trading for these or if they were a just because package, but what I do know is they came the “the Diamond King”

4 Awesome Frank Thomas cards.  I really like the 2 SP’s at the bottom.

All new Tom Seaver cards for that player collection.  I remember being surprised at all the Seaver cards in this package.  I love the 1982 Fleer and the 1981 Donruss, I had those as kids.

But wait, there’s more.

Kevin also sent me these 2 vintage Seaver’s.  I remember having the 1979 Topps on the right when I was a kid.  I always love getting a card I remembered having as a kid.  It always brings back great memories to receive those kinds of cards.

A truly awesome package from Kevin, be sure to check him out at “the Diamond King” and Kevin, if I still owe you cards, let me know.  I will do my best to make good.

I have Wednesday and Thursday off this week so I plan on getting some packages out on one of those days.  Not sure which ones but I probably won’t ship them all.  Way too expensive for me.

Trade with the Diamond King

I posted some trade bait a week or so ago and Kevin of “The Diamond King” blog claimed some cards.  I sent his, he sent mine, and another great trade was finished.  This is my 2nd trade with him and I’m just as pleased with this one.  This was the 1st trade that I didn’t get any White Sox cards but that’s ok, because he sent some great cards.

I’ve been getting some great Tom Seaver’s for my collection from traders and Kevin added these 5.  Really like the Kellogg’s card, I remember those from back in the day.

He also sent 4 more Konerko’s for my collection, all Dodgers.  I knew he played for the Dodgers, but I didn’t realize how many cards he had with them.  I thought it was just a few, I was way wrong.  I read on someone’s comment’s the other day how many and was astonished.  I don’t remember where I read that as I have over 100 card blogs I read but you guys are a very reliable source.

Trade with Kevin

I got an email from Kevin about a week ago asking for my address because he was going to send some cards my way in exchange, I could send him some cards back in fair value. I received his cards earlier in the week and finally got around to scanning them.

He boosted my Tom Seaver collection by quite a bit. Loved seeing these cards. I remember having some of these as a kid. Especially love the 1971 ERA leaders. Those alone were great. But there was more.

Paul Konerko rookies, a bunch of Frank Thomas. What White Sox collector wouldn’t want those. But that wasn’t it, there was more.

2 rookie refractors, an Aparicio, Wilhelm, Fisk and Baines. And this was just the highlights. Great lot Kevin. I’m going to have find you some good cards to even out this trade. Hopefully I’ll have some time during the holiday weekend coming up.
