Christmas Giveaway From Dennis, Michael Jordan

This is part 2 of the Dennis Christmas giveaway. I said I was going to post these when I didn't get any mail, well, today is Sunday and Christmas so, no mail. We got through all our festivities, I came away with some awesome Michigan swag. My first since Nike took over so it's pretty great. Anyways, I'm sitting here, chilling and figured I guess I could throw up another post. Maybe you'll get part 3 tomorrow. Depends if I get any mail, I assume they are running tomorrow.

Dennis boosted 2 of my player collections, big time. Today is one of them. He sent me a bunch for the Michael Jordan Collection. After all was said in done, as in, I logged them in and looked for duplicates, he sent me a total of 37 new cards for that collection. I'll go ahead and post them all here since they all got scanned anyways for My Personal Collections blog which is basically a gallery of my cards. I'll just make them smaller so it doesn't log down your computers. Plus, most everyone out there as far as regular readers don't collect much basketball. Let's get to it.

I took me longest to log this collection, not because it's the most for one collection, because it's not, Dennis topped the 37 with another collection, but because they're basketball cards. You look at the copyright date, is it 1997? or 1997-98? or 1996-1997? Yeah, just a pain in the ass. I got them all in regardless and got photos of all of them. Makes me glad that I don't get much of anybody else as far as NBA cards are concerned. A few here and there of Michigan players and that's about it. These 37 cards boosted the Michael Jordan collection up to 142 cards.

A big thanks to Dennis for these cards, I don't get MJ cards nearly as often as I bid on them. I bet I only get 5% of the ones I bid on. They get posted all the time at a penny start, but like I said, it's not to often they go for my kind of cheapness.

Christmas Eve Eve Mailday

I got 3 envelopes today, 2 from the USPS, one from UPS. I'm not sure why the guy sent me 3 cards UPS when I won them for $.44/shipped combined. He must just have some money burning a hole in his pocket or something but whatever. Had he not knocked on the door while we were home, we probably would have never had seen the envelope sitting there.

The first envelope contained 3 Vintage Collection cards, and a player collection cards.

1983 Donruss

This is only my 33rd card for the 1983 Donruss set. I only paid $.15/shipped.

1985 Donruss

Another set that I don't have a lot of, this is only my 35th card of the 1985 Donruss set. I got this Eddie Murray card for a quarter/shipped which isn't bad for a Hall of Famer.

1987 Donruss

Another pretty good player picked up cheap. At least this set I'm doing better than the previous 2. This Jack Morris card is the 227th card of the 1987 Donruss set. I picked this one up for $.15/shipped as well.

1990 Donruss MVP

This one goes to the Carlton Fisk Collection as well as the White Sox Collection and it only came to me for a quarter/shipped.  It is my 144th card of that player collection.

The second envelope contained 4 Bowman cards, 1 White Sox Collection and 3 player collections.

1990 Bowman

I picked this Jack McDowell up for a whopping $.06/shipped.

This Carlton Fisk/White Sox collection card came to me for $.16/shipped. Those 2 1990 Bowman cards take my team collection down to needing 6 cards.

1989 Bowman

Even though this is a Cal Ripken Sr card, I grabbed it anyways since it has Cal Jr and Billy on it as well. Obviously, it's going to the Cal Ripken Jr collection. I picked it up for a quarter/shipped. It is the 262nd card of Cal Jr.

1989 Donruss

I grabbed another card for the Barry Larkin Collection as well. This 1989 Bowman card is my 105th card of his and I picked it up for a dime/shipped.

The 3rd envelope is the one that came from UPS. It contained 3 cards, all for the Michael Jordan collection. He had around 150 cards of his listed at a penny, all I won were these 3.

1998 Upper Deck Time Frame

This is the 7th card I've picked up like this. It's a whole insert set (I'm guessing). I nabbed this one for $.06/shipped.

1999 Upper Deck Michael Jordan Career

It's a bad crop on that card but trust me, I have the whole card. I'll have to replace it eventually. This card was a $.18/shipped. This is the 9th card I have of this insert set.

1990-91 NBA Hoops

I don't get to many of these cards from his early career so this was a nice pick-up for $.20. These 3 cards push the MJ Collection over 100 cards as it now sits at 102 cards.

One More Day Mailday

One more day of work before getting 4 days off. It's been slow at work so it's been a slow week. Getting packages in the mail always makes everything better. Let's get to it.

1988 Topps Traded

I debated on grabbing this for the White Sox Collection because technically, it's not a White Sox card but I figured it was cheap so what the hell. I only paid $.20/shipped for it.

1988 Leaf

I added another to the Cal Ripken Jr Collection with his Leaf pickup. I only paid a quarter/shipped for it and it gives me 261 Ripken cards.

1993 Leaf

I thought I already had this but apparently not. As much as it pains me to add another Yankees card to the Jim Abbott Collection, it was still necessary. I only dropped another quarter/shipped for my 83rd Abbott card.

1993 Topps Gold

I also managed another one for the Barry Larkin Collection. This is my 104th card in that collection and it comes to me for $.22/shipped.

1998-99 Upper Deck

I bid on a ton of Michael Jordan cards, someone listed 150 of them at a penny start. I only won this one and a few more that you'll see when I get them. This card is the 100th of the Michael Jordan Collection and it comes to me for $.20/shipped.

2016-17 Panini Prizm Green Prizm Refractor

I was really shocked that I won this one. Just goes to show you, always bid even if you think it's a lost cause. I realize he's not a huge superstar or anything but really, a refractor for under a quarter? This is only my 6th card for the Mitch McGary Collection and it came to me for $.23/shipped.
