Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Another day, another 3 cards

I got 3 envelopes with 3 cards today. I guess the nicest thing about buying these cards so cheap is that I tend to get cards in the mail most days.

I got one player collection card of a HOFer, I though I already had it but apparently I have one with him and A-rod. This one has better company. I picked this up for $.25/shipped. This is my 126th card of Michael Jack Schmidt. I don't know why I know his name but apparently I do.

I also picked up this 2014 Bowman for the White Sox Collection. According to my list, I don't have any Chrome for this year, I'm guessing that I probably have some in my box of Sox cards but I haven't gotten around to logging them yet. Either way, I only paid $.25/shipped so if I had it, I have a dupe now.

It's Brian Anderson, so I thought I might win it but then again, it's red ink and only numbered to 25 so I wasn't sure. I was really surprised that nobody else bid on it. I ended up winning it for $1.99/shipped.

Monday pick-ups

I got 2 envelopes with 3 cards in the mail today. 2 player collection, 1 team collection. Let's get to it.

The seller had this listed correctly and incorrectly, not that it's a high dollar card or anything but I picked it up for $.23/shipped. He had it listed as a 2011 Topps 60 years of Topps, which is actually what the next card is. This is my 168th card of Barry.

Now this one is a 2011 Topps 60 Years of Topps even though it looks like the 1983 Topps. I got this for $.23/shipped as well. It is my 419th card of Ripken.

Another autograph of Thyago Vieira. I know he was playing with the Sox this year but all I can remember is watching him blow a lead in the one game I remember watching him in. This is my 5th pick up of his cards, all autographs. I got this one for $2.75/shipped.

Weekend catch-up

This is a catch up post because I've gotten cards the last few days but hadn't posted them. I have various collections represented today.

We'll start with a couple of Bowman Heritage cards I picked up for a dime/shipped a piece. These go to the new Baseball collection which is anything that's not in my other collections.

I found this searching dime cards but it goes to the Vintage Collection. I picked it up for $.13/shipped. I'm always happy to grab 1981 Topps because I'm over 75% complete.

Now for the player collection portion. I picked up this Gary Carter from this years Archives set. I nabbed it for $.23/shipped. I've been bidding on a bunch of these Archives cards for my player collections but have only won a couple. This is my 116th card of Gary Carter.

I picked this 2018 up for $.25/shipped. It's my 96th card of Zimmy, slowly closing in on that century mark.

It's not a player collection but I grabbed it with the Zimmerman card. This White Sox collection card of the currently injured Abreu came to me for $.23/shipped. I only need 4 more players for that team set, but apparently they all have different versions so I need 7 more cards.

I picked up both of these Maurice Hurst's for the player collection as well as the Michigan collection. His cards are starting to come down, I've been bidding on his for awhile and just starting winning some. I've managed to get 4 of Mo so far. Both of these were $.34/each/shipped.

As you can tell, Denard's cards have come down as well. I picked up the triple relic card for only $2/shipped and the autograph for $3/shipped. Both great prices if you ask me. These 2 cards give me 41 cards of Shoelace.

Last but not least, I picked up this relic/auto card of Caris LeVert for only $3/shipped. This is my 7th card of LeVert and sadly, none of them are in his Wolverines uniform.

Rookies & All-Stars

I did get 2 cards in the mail today and you won't be stuck with all White Sox or Michigan on this post.

A Larry Walker rookie? Hell yeah! Well, ok, it's nothing that awesome especially since it's the 1990 Donruss set but it wasn't a bad pick up for $.10/shipped.

You'll never guess how much I paid for this Chase Utley. I'll give you a hint, it's not between $.01 and $.10 which would have been my max bid. If I had actually bid on it. This was a throw in with the Larry Walker so as you can guess now, it was a free card. There's nothing ever wrong with free cards, especially of a former all-star and silver slugger award winner.

Well you get 1 White Sox card but it has another team on it as well. I picked up this Heritage card for $.23/shipped. I didn't even catch it was Daniel Webb on the card until I received it. He was in the news over players weekend because Kevin Smith wore his nickname on his jersey to honor his friend who had passed. He hit a HR by the way, on the first pitch, and it was his first of the year.

White Sox Monday

Gonna follow up my Michigan heavy post with a White Sox heavy post, sorry about that (not really.)

I came across this looking for dime cards but I needed it for the team set. Which I'm not really close to finishing but I still needed it and how could I pass up a card of One Dog for $.06/shipped.

I was thinking I already had this so I only bid $1 on it, which is what I won it for. When I went to log it in, I went to check and see if I did indeed have it, I searched him by name and come to find out, this is my 3rd one of his, and this card. That's alright though, I keep dupes of autos. Unless I know Jeff (2x3 Heroes) needs it than I'll send it his way.

I've been watching him the last few months and he's been a decent player with some potential so I was happy to pick up this auto for $1.25/shipped.

I've definitely kept an eye on Nicky as I believe he has been up most if not all the season. He started the season off with a ton of multi hit games and even though that has tapered off some, he's still a pretty good rookie and again, was happy to pick up an auto of his for $3/shipped.

Michigan Saturday

Technically, the cards I'm showing today, came in the mail yesterday. I've been fighting a cold and I had running around to do after work so by the time I got on my laptop, I was half asleep so I never got around to posting them. This post with me heavy on the Michigan stuff today but I'll start with the one that's not.

I picked up this card for the Baseball Collection for $.10/shipped. Not that I really want to add any Indians to my collection since they are running away with our division, but they are also the only team over .500 so it's not like it's a tough decision.

I'll start the Michigan collection with a dupe. I actually already have this card but I bid on dupes of autos and relics, I just don't go to $3 depending on how many I have. I picked this one up for $2.25/shipped and it was a 2 card lot with another auto of a Boise State player but I don't have a Football Collection so it's not featured here. Dennis, let me know if you need this and it's yours.

This is only my 2nd Mo Hurst card, I grabbed it for only $.35/shipped. I've bid on a bunch of his but they tend to go over my max bid. I bid max bid of $.50 on Michigan uniform cards which is why this is over my usual $.25 bid.

This is my 3rd card of Channing Stribling, all 3 are auto's in his Michigan uniform. I picked this one up for only $1.25/shipped.

I guess it pays to wait a day to post since I watched Michigan play today, it's only fitting to post a bunch of Michigan cards.

Unlicensed Auto

Another one card mail day. I have some more cards coming but I haven't taken the time to bid on anything lately. I've been fighting a cold and going to bed early because I'm getting up earlier. So there will probably be a slow period in a week or so. I'll get going again this weekend.

I picked up this non-licensed auto for $2.35/shipped. It's not even my first auto of his but I believe the other one is also a logoless card.

Future Star Auto

After the last couple of posts, you'll be happy to see that I only got 1 card in the mail today but it is another White Sox collection so most of you won't be interested anyways.

I picked up this autograph of a possible future star for my max bid of $3/shipped. I wouldn't have bid the total of $3 if it was someone I didn't know much about, especially being a non-license product but I like this kid and his ceiling is high so I'm hoping for big things in the future.

Weekend Catch Up

As I said in my last post, I went camping over the weekend so I have a bunch of cards again but this time, it's because I wasn't around to post. So all of these came in on Friday, Saturday or today.

We'll start off with the newly started Baseball Collection, or in other words, any cards that don't belong in any of my other collections.

Along with the max bid of $.10/shipped that I bid on the other cards, I put a max bid of $1 on jerseys/autos and I came home with this card for $.74/shipped.

I picked up these 3 for the 1981 Topps set of the Vintage Collection. I ran across these looking for penny cards to bid on. I picked up the Reuschel for $.16/shipped, the Lyle for $.23/shipped and the May/Sutton for $.22/shipped. These 3 cards put the 1981 Topps set at 77% completed.

I also managed to pick up 2 more cards for the 1964 Topps set. I grabbed both of these for a quarter/shipped a piece. This only gives me 21 cards for that set though.

These 2 additions to the White Sox Collection came to me for $.23/shipped and $3/shipped. I assume you can figure out which price goes with which card. I think that might be my first 2018 Allen & Ginter of a Sox player. The Carlos Sanchez is my first of Yolmer, which is what he goes by these days.

I also picked up this Ryan Zimmerman for that player collection for $.16/shipped. It is my 95th card of Ryan, it's my 4th from 2018.

I haven't picked up any cards of Funchess in awhile so it was odd to pick up 2 at once. Although I picked up one on a mistake. I bid on so many cards that a lot of time I just glance at the card and if it doesn't look familiar, I bid. Well in doing that, I glanced at the top card and saw the black triangle in the corner and thought it was a piece of jersey and put $3 on it. Luckily, I won it for only $.99/shipped and while that is above my usual bid price, it's still mine. I picked up the relic card of his for $2.50/shipped. These 2 cards make 27 in that player collection

That catches me up for this past weekend and now I have to go back to work again tomorrow. Real life is calling.

Are you ready for this?

In the words of Taylor Swift, Are you ready for this? BMMMM, BMMMM, BMMMM (That's supposed to be bass).

Sorry, I don't listen to Taylor, I swear. Shhhh!

Remember when I said I was picking up single cards on the Bay for $.10 and under. Well someone listed a bunch of Bowman for a penny and I bid on a lot of it. So this is a picture heavy post but the good news is I'm using small pictures, if you want to see them bigger, I believe you can click on them.

I'm not going to post the price of each card because who has time for that, and I need to go to bed to be up before 4 tomorrow.

You might see what looks like dupes but there is actually Bowman Draft and Bowman Draft Chrome mixed in there. I purchased all of these for a dime or under. All those cost me a total of $1.74 shipped which equals out to just over a nickel a card.

I also picked up these cards for the White Sox collection, these I had a max bid of a quarter because that's what I usually pay for the other collections.

All those came out to $2.52/shipped which equals out to just under $.17/each. I haven't looked to see how close those put me to finishing the set but I'm pretty sure it isn't complete it. I believe there is a Michael Kopech in that set and I didn't win any of his.
