Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Another Amara

I have been winning a bunch of this guys cards lately and the majority of them have been relics. I don't know why all of the sudden I am, but I am.

This is my 7th card of Amara Darboh and 6 of those are autographs and relics, only 1 card isn't. I picked this one up for $3/shipped.

Barry! Barry! Barry!

I really need to get into a rhythm of posting here, every day that I don't, I get further behind on my posts. A lot of days I just space it and forget.

I picked up this Larkin for the player collection. I've been able to pick up a few of these 2018 Donruss cards for a few collections. This came to me for only $.23/shipped. This is my 165th different card of the former Wolverine.

Trade with my man in A2

I've been slacking all week which doesn't help when your behind on your posting. This is called a trade, but in reality, Dennis sends me his dupes that fit my collection, which I do as well but it's like 200 cards he sends me to my 5. He sent me this package probably a month ago now. I got it all logged pretty quickly but it was awhile scanning all the cards. As you should know, I'm in the process of scanning all my cards individually so even though you won't see every card here, they'll all get posted on My Personal Collections, eventually. All in all, he added 88 cards to my collections.

We'll start with a 60 card set from 2001 Fleer. It's a boxed set that I had no idea it even existed. I won't show all 60 cards but I will a few.

This is what the first 12 cards look like, each celebrating a milestone throughout his career.

The next 12 are labeled "the Streak" and represent the streak. If you don't know what streak they are referring to then why are you even reading this.

The next 11 are highlights from his Final Season. I like the black border with the orange. It's very Orioles like.

The next 5 are highlights from his last game. They basically swapped the colors from the last 11 but it looked a lot better before.

The last 20 cards are copies of each fleer card from the years he played. I do like this concept and thought it was pretty. It's actually a pretty cool set.

The 60 card set along with these other 5 cards give me 416 cards in that collection. Dennis always hits this collection as we both collect him. I'm pretty sure that puts him in 2nd place with total amount of cards in a player collection. Right behind the next guy.

As much as I like seeing Konerko in a White Sox uniform, to see him others is a rarity card wise. Sure there are quite a few actual cards, they just don't come up very often.  The one White Sox card is serial numbered. These 3 cards make 446 cards of Konerko. 77 of those are in a uniform other than the Sox.

He also sent these 4 cards for the White Sox collection. 3 are which are numbered. I like the Box Score cards. I'm not sure I have any but I have seen these before. Another cool way to preserve some legacy.

He also sent 8 Larkin's who as a former Wolverine we both collect. These 8 (4 shown) puts that collection at 184 cards.

To continue with former Wolverines.

I hate seeing Abbott in a Yankee uniform but I needed it and I'm sure Dennis was happy to see that uniform leave his collection. These 2 cards put it at 95 cards, 18 of which are in that damn Yankees uniform.

You know I love these 3 just because they are in the Maize and Blue. I really like the look of the top one.

Last but not least.

These last 2 are current player collections of former Wolverines but they aren't very big. It's only my 2nd card of Rudock and my 1st of Ross, but as you can tell, it's starting with an autograph. I bid on a few of these US Army autographs but never seem to win them.

Thanks for the package Dennis, be sure to check him out at "Too Many Verlanders" and "Too Many Manninghams."

Sale Sunday

Another single card post, but it will be the last one for a bit. Up next is a trade (if you want to call it that) package.

I thought I already had this but apparently not. This card is from 2016 so I'm surprised I don't yet. I did manage to pick it up for $.17/shipped. It is my 133rd card of Sale.

Purple Shininess

As we prepare for Mother's day, or should I say I hope you're already prepared because it's tomorrow or where I am, in less than an hour, I thought I'd show off a couple of auto's I picked up on the Bay recently.

First, I picked up this Sweeney autograph. I'm pretty sure he was one of our "next big thing" players that never panned out. I picked up this card for $1.69/shipped.

I think Micah was another can't miss prospect, he still has a chance, but it will be with another team. Either way, this is a Sox card and a shiny purple one at that, it's pretty slick. This auto came to be $1.81/shipped.

Hump Day Auto

Another single card today, but it's an autograph.

I picked up this Koger autograph for $2.49 shipped. It is my 6th card of him and oddly enough, it is my 5th autograph. I'm wondering if maybe he just doesn't have very many base cards. He may be losing his player collection status considering all my cards are from 2012. I don't think he ever went pro so that is probably why he doesn't have many cards. I usually like to get at least 10 cards before saying a player collection and being as it's been 6 years, we'll see. All his cards will still go to the Michigan collection if that does happen.

A Wood Bench

Sorry about that title, I couldn't help myself.

To be honest, I don't remember if these 2 came in the same envelope or not but they are kind of the same card. Classic players on newer cards so I'm going to put them together.

I picked up this Bench for the player collection for $.23/shipped. It is my 76th card from that collection. It sounds like a lot but the fact that 50 of those are after he played doesn't say much.

I also grabbed this Wilbur Wood for the White Sox Collection. This is the better card of the 2 because it's shiny and it's a White Sox player. I grabbed this for only $.15/shipped.

Wormley Monday

Another one card post and another former Wolverine. I've all of the sudden been picking up a bunch of them. I usually do about a year after they are drafted, their prices start to come down to reality and I start winning them.

This is my 3rd card of the former Wolverine defensive lineman, my 2nd in 2 weeks. This is actually my first non-autograph and my first in a Michigan uniform (sort of) of him though so there is that. I grabbed this for $.23/shipped.

Another 1975

I showed some 1975's earlier in the week. Here's one more that I purchased from a separate seller.

I picked this up for $.23/shipped. It is only my 47th card from the 1975 set which isn't so great considering I have the Sox team set among those 47.
