Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Trade with Potch

Although not technically a trade, Potch sent me some cards out of the blue.  Eventually he’ll get a return package which will make it a trade but it may be awhile.  Let’s get to the cards.

He sent me some 1980’s.  I don’t think I have very many of any of these years or manufactures.  Although I remember having a bunch of the 1988 Donruss back in the day.

Early 90’s, stacked by year.  What’s great about this package is it’s all kinds of cards I would have had problems finding and picking up.  Whenever I get off my ass and update my want lists, he might have finished some more team sets for me.

A couple of later 90’s cards.  I remember Darren playing for us, Brett, not so much.

And some 2000-current.  Really like the Topps chrome Alexei Ramirez.  Mainly because it’s chrome.

Like I said before, I love these kinds of packages because it fills a bunch of needs.  Big thanks to “Indianaland” or “Potch Wheeler and the Cardboard Heroes”.  Be sure to check him out.

Completed Team Sets–2006 Fleer

I’m sorry about all the Completed Team Sets and 1981 Topps posts, but that’s all I’ve got scanned so far.   I have some packages to get scanned but I’m waiting for 1 more from COMC before I scan some more.  I usually try to sit and scan everything at once while I have the scanner out.  But until then, you’ll get alternating between those 2.

I actually received this team set from a trader, I don’t remember who now, but I took the Paul Konerko and it went to the Paul Konerko collection because I fill the player collections first.  But I went and picked up an additional Konerko to finish it with my last COMC purchase.

You can’t complain about all action shots.  Kind of a plain foreground but it’s got the team logo, so that’s a positive.

Box Break–Community Gum

Community Gum had another great box break.  He kept the Frank Thomas cards for himself but that was cool because I had a crap load of them anyways. It was an all Upper Deck box break so let’s get to the loot.

A couple of Jim Thome’s from 2007 UD Elements.  The one on the right is sort of see through which you can’t really see in the scan.

6 new 2006 UD First Pitch.  I like the Mark Buehrle, but that’s more because I like Mark Buehrle.

Some 2003 UD Victory.  3 Paul Konerko’s.  I showed the duplicate’s because one will go in the White Sox Collection and the bottom 2 will go in the Paul Konerko Collection.  I received all great players from that set.

2002 UD 40 man.  A couple of Kenny Lofton’s and a couple of rookies.  Jon Rauch was supposed to be one of our top pitchers but never quite got there.

And some 1999 UD Retro.  I’m not sure if Community Gum already had that Frank Thomas or it slipped through his fingers.  Either or, he must have felt bad for taking the others because he also sent me these that are new to the White Sox Collection.

I could have sworn I had the Gypsy Queen but it was still on my list.  I thought I had the team set.  I’ll know for sure when I eventually get around to putting them away.

Thanks for the break and for the bonus Thomas’.  Be sure to check out “Community Gum” for box breaks and much more.
