Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Billy Williams collection

I don’t get to add to many Billy Williams cards to the collection.  It’s a modern card but that’s ok.  I actually picked up 5 different cards from last years Allen & Ginter’s set from one seller at $.50/each.  You’ll see each one with that players addition posts.

AJ Pierzynski collection

Judson from over at “My Cardboard Habit” told me he had an AJ Pierzynski rainbow that he no longer wanted since AJ was no longer with the Texas Rangers and he told me he would trade me them.  I explained that I don’t really trade anymore but if he gave me enough time, I could have my cousin (Sluggo) pick up something in exchange because he has good card shops and shows around him and Judson agreed.  He even went ahead and sent the rainbow to me.  My first rainbow at that, these are pretty awesome, check them out.

Base                                     Refractor

Purple Refractor                  Orange Refractor

                XFractor                 Blue Sapphire Refractor /199

Black Refractor /100                   Sepia Refractor /75

Gold Refractor /50                     Red Refractor /25

Camo Refractor /15                     Atomic Refractor /10

That’s a lot of AJ love up there, a lot of shininess too.  These cards are cool and I can’t wait to slide them in their pages so they are all together.

To Judson, my cousin has been looking and has sent me a couple of options so I am searching for cards to return the favor, I won’t forget about you.

To everybody else, check out “My Cardboard Habit” for another great card blog and a great trader.

Ryan Zimmerman collection

Another collection that is relatively new with not many cards.  The Ryan Zimmerman collection only has 26 cards.  I grabbed this rookie Zimmerman for $.50.

Player Collection additions

My cousin, whom I refer to as “Sluggo” here, sent me another box of Chicago White Sox cards.  He usually sends me a box or 2 every 6 months or so.  He generally buys out people’s collections and whatever he can’t really get rid of, he sends my way.  I usually end up with quite a few dupes, but I’ll keep the ones I don’t have.  He sometimes sends me other cards from my Player Collections if he remembers who I collect.  You’ll see the Denard Robinson cards he sent me over at Too Many Manninghams.  The rest, you’ll see here.

Tom Seaver               Tom Seaver

He sent me these 2 for the Tom Seaver collection.  A 1992 Kellogg’s All-Star and a 2012 Topps Allen & Ginter’s Baseball Highlights Sketch.  He sent me a few other Seaver’s but I already had them, and a couple went to the vintage collection as well.

1998 Upper Deck Retro #21 Carlton Fisk               Carlton Fisk

These 2 were probably sent because they were White Sox.  I don’t think he knew I had a player collection of his.  They are a 1998 Upper Deck Retro and a 1989 Upper Deck.

Chris Sale

These 3 were also probably sent just because they were White Sox cards.  They are 2013 Bowman Chrome, 2014 Bowman Platinum and a 2013 Topps Chrome.

Lastly, one of the Player Collections he did know about.  He sent me a bunch for the Paul Konerko Collection.

First, the lone Cincinnati Reds card.

Next, what most of you are here for (let’s face it, there’s a lot of bloggers for this team), the Los Angeles Dodgers cards.

1997 Upper Deck Collector’s Choice Star Quest and 1998 Donruss Signature Series

1998 Pinnacle Zenith and 1998 Pinnacle Performers

Along with all of those great LA Dodger cards, he even sent me one White Sox card that I needed.

1999 Upper Deck SP Authentic

As I was logging in these cards he sent me, I noticed that he helped me break the 300 card mark with Paul Konerko.  306 to be exact.

So as you can see, I got a lot of great cards from him.  He said he’s about ready to ship me another box because he bought out another collection.  I tried to get him into blogging so he could trade with all of you but he says he doesn’t have the time.  As long as he keeps sending me cards then I guess I’m ok with it.
