Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Golfing with Cease

Sitting here and watching Yellowstone because my wife was out of town so now that she's home, we're watching it first. I haven't told her about the time it's over, the Michigan game will be starting.

Today's post is a pitcher that I've seen on the Sox boards a couple of times this offseason. Playing frisbee golf or disc golf or whatever it's called.

I grabbed this out of Sluggo's cards while doing some work for him. It's a Chrome rookie so I was pleased to add it. I added a bunch of him in July which is why you only get 1 card today.

the Original Yaz

The card show went great, it wasn't as much foot traffic as we would have liked but we had a pretty good day. We had heard more than once that we had the good stuff and a lot people came back to our table. We probably spent about 1/3 of what we received buying from people coming up to the table.

The only negative was Saturday night, I came down with pink eye so I assume that was from handling all that money over the weekend. That would be why I didn't get a post out yesterday. I had trouble even keeping my eye open enough to see. It's a lot better today so I'm hoping to go back to work tomorrow.

Today's post is a Hall of Famer who while on Sportlots earlier today, I picked a bunch more of him as he's one of my Tier 3 collections which is where I'm at on Sportlots.

These were all odds and ends on my last Sportlots order that I picked up to get more from each seller. If you know me, you know I'm digging that sticker in the middle, as well as the 1960 look-a-like.

These 4 move the collection up to 78 cards. It will get a big boost when I ship my next Sportlots box.

Sleepy Saturday

We did our 2nd day of the show today, it's also the last. I'll talk about it tomorrow. I've been fighting sleep all evening while watching the Michigan/Penn State game and now the Michigan/Prairie View A&M (yeah, I never heard of them either) game.

Today's post, we go back to some baseball and a possible starter for the Sox next year.

I picked up this card from Sluggo going through a bunch of Gallery cards. I don't think he relalized it was a Private Issue card when he skimmed them otherwise it wouldn't have been in there.

I picked up this Holo Orange of Michael at the LCS a month or so ago. I'm pretty sure it was in the dime box but I'm not positive.

These 2 give my Kopech collection to 73 cards.

Another first, tomorrow

So, after work today (and after I picked up my new contacts) I went over to my mom's and loaded up 5 tables in the back of my car. Then I went over to Sluggo's and loaded up approximately 25-30 boxes of cards, 3 display cases and all 5 tables into the back of his truck. First thing tomorrow morning, we are driving out to the hotel and will be a part of a card show. While Sluggo has done a bunch of these, it will be my first time selling at one. It will be weird being on the other side of the table but I'm looking forward to it. I was on the other side of the table for the National but it wasn't my stuff, I was just helping out so I didn't do much. This time I'll have say in prices and stuff.

It's the first show at this venue and the guy running it had one at the fairgrounds a month or so ago and it wasn't really impressive so I'm a little worried about attendance but we'll see. We're getting half off our tables since we're bringing our own so hopefully we at least make enough to cover the tables and our time. We'll see.

I plan on using our Instagram tomorrow, so feel free to give it a follow. @SluggosSportsCards.

Today's post is another player who doesn't have very many cards, although it's more than the 25 that the last guy had.

Devin has 129 cards but this is only my 4th of Gardner. He has become a YouTuber that has come into the limelight for some fans. He's been doing, what is more or less, a podcast on video for the Michigan Insider and has been insightful. I've only watched clips but he's made a little noise doing it. I picked up this 1 card on Sportlots.
