Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Overboard

I hadn't gotten any cards the last few days which explains my absence. I did have a softball game (first one this year) on Thursday so that day worked out because I would have had to push to get a post out. I want to say this is the first time I've gone 2 mail days in a row without getting any cards, at least since I started posting what I got daily so for the last few weeks anyways.

I've been bored today, since it's very hot outside and I'm not messing in it. I'm watching my 3rd White Sox game (2 were DVR'd, this one is live and not going well) and have been messing around on my phone quite a bit. I've had a personal snapchat but I rarely use it, I mainly watch others (including the White Sox, Colts and Michigan Athletics) and was tinkering around with having a separate account for this blog, and I did it. I've posted a few today and we'll see how long I stay with it but it's up there and live now. The usernames is MySportsObsessn or if you're familiar with snapchat. there's this as well.
I don't know if the quality of the pic is good enough to use but there it is. My plan is to snap each card that I receive in the mail and post other sports related stuff that I am doing.

Since I'm talking about my phone, I should show off my new wallpaper as well, just because I think it's pretty bad ass and I love it.

I can't wait until August 1st when the new merchandise goes live. I already told my mom that I want a pair of Michigan Jordan's for Christmas.

The reason I called this post overboard was because of what else I did this morning. On Ebay, I am usually bidding on an average of 30 or so cards. I have all kinds of saved searches (68 to be exact), I check all my player collection and team collections searches for the most part, every day. I have saved searches for certain cards that I need to close out a team collection, I check those once a week. Then I have my vintage searches that I only check occasionally, sometimes every couple of months. Well, this morning I decided to go ahead and check my vintage searches and when all was said and done. I'm now bidding on 315 cards, yikes. I won't win them all, or at least I hope not because my wife would kill me, but right now I'm winning 223 of them. So that could mean that I'll have lots of cards to show off in the future.

You guys aren't here for all that though, are you? Let's get down to the cards. I did get 2 packages today, one player collection and one team collection.

2011 Topps 60 Years of Topps
I thought I had this one but it was probably another reprint of the same card considering Topps has been punching them out like crazy the last few years. I picked this one up for $.32/shipped.

2016 Donruss Diamond Kings Mini Relic
I also picked up this mini relic of Carlos Rodon, I paid a little over my usual budget of $3 for it but I have occasionally done that by putting the minimum bid if it's still low. I won this relic numbered to /99 for $3.49/shipped. I think that's still a pretty good price for a card that will probably rise as he becomes more known. Not that it matters to me what it's worth because it isn't getting sold.

  1. There are times when I realize I am currently the winning bidder on more auctions than I thought I would be, and I really start hoping to see those outbid notices in my e-mail. You wouldn't usually think of losing as something to be happy about, but there are times when it's nice to get outbid.

    1. I know your pain. I want all the cards, just not the dirty looks that come when my wife sees the bill.

  2. My students talk about snapchat. I'm still trying to figure out Twitter. Guess I'm years behind ;)

    1. I use it more for information, like I do Twitter then I actually post my own stuff. I follow sports teams for behind the scenes stuff that they post.

Sorry about the word verification, but blogger sucks at filtering out the comments as of late. As bad as their last update is.
