Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Friday–2x3 Heroes week

Tuesday – Team collectionsWednesday – Vintage collection (80’s)Thursday – Vintage collection (70’s)Friday – Player collections.

Here we are on the last day of 2x3 Heroes week and we’ve seen the team collection cards, we’ve seen the vintage collection cards, now let’s get to the player collection cards.

2x3-aparicio

Luis Aparicio – 2013 Panini Cooperstown Collection #74

Jeff sent this Aparicio and it becomes my 69th cards of the Luis Aparicio Collection.  He probably didn’t even need to check my have list because it’s a 2013, there’s a good chance I don’t have it.

2x3-carter

Gary Carter – 1985 Topps (all-star) #719

This is my 21st card of the Gary Carter Collection.  Jeff probably sent this with the rest of the 1985 Topps cards that he sent for the vintage collection but that’s ok, because I still needed it here.

2x3-crede

Joe Crede – 2007 Topps #92

This is my 44th card of the former Chicago White Sox 3rd basemen.  I haven’t been finding many of his cards for Cheaper Than Stamps so it was nice to get this one to add to the Joe Crede Collection.

2x3-sale

Chris Sale – 2013 Topps Archives #197

This is my 51st card for the Chris Sale collection.  Like the Aparicio above, Jeff probably knew I didn’t have much from 2013, especially the off brand stuff, I pretty much only have the base cards from the base set.

2x3-schmidt

Mike Schmidt – 1987 Topps #430

This is only my 13th card of the Mike Schmidt collection and I was surprised that didn’t have it but there you go.  Jeff probably hit more player collections than he realized.

2x3-fisk

Carlton Fisk – 1985 Topps #770, 1987 Topps #756 and 1988 Topps Big #197

These 3 cards get my Carlton Fisk collection up to 75 cards.  You can’t help to get excited when you trade with a fellow White Sox collector because you know those players will get a boost.

2x3-konerko

Paul Konerko – 2005 Leaf #51, 2005 Leaf Green #51, 2005 Upper Deck #49, 2008 Upper Deck Emerald Starquest #SQ54 and 2013 Topps Opening Day

Always love getting Konerko cards for the Paul Konerko collection because he is my favorite current player.  These 5 cards put that collection at 280 cards.

2x3-pierzynski

AJ Pierzynski – 2006 Topps #149, 2012 Panini Triple Play #16, 2005 Topps Update #UH44, 2008 Upper Deck #455 and 2010 Upper Deck #127

5 more AJ’s for the AJ Pierzynski collection which is great because I haven’t been able to pick much of his either.  These 5 cards put that collection at 43 cards.

2x3-ripken

Cal Ripken jr – 1989 Topps Cap’n Crunch #6, 1989 Topps Glossy #5, 2006 Topps Rookie of the Week #14, 2013 Topps 1971 mini #TM-30 and 1994 Upper Deck Collector’s Choice (team checklist) #421

5 cards for the Cal Ripken jr collection.  This collection is doing a lot better than all the other in the Cheaper Than Stamps posts but Jeff still grabbed 5 cards that I didn’t have.  These 5 cards put that collection at 40 cards which is a long ways from the 4 or 5 I started with.

2x3-buehrle

Mark Buehrle – 2010 Upper Deck Season Biography #SB-127, 2010 Upper Deck #134, 2011 Topps Diamond Anniversary #231, 2010 Upper Deck (team checklist) #576, 2008 Topps Heritage #410, 2003 Fleer Focus Jersey Edition #56, 2006 Topps Update & Highlights #277 and 2004 Donruss Elite Extra Edition #21

These 8 Buehrle cards put the Mark Buehrle collection at 133 cards, which is my biggest from tier 2 or 3.  Mainly because he was with the White Sox so long that I had a bunch of duplicates when I started his collection.  I’ve only picked up 1 or 2 on my Cheaper Than Stamps posts and only 1 of those was non White Sox.

A big shout out to Jeff at 2 by 3 Heroes for this great box of cards
