I'm here, just in time to get my last one out for the month. It's a big one too. Tomorrow is my surgery so I didn't want to leave this for the last day of the month. Thanks to all of you who wished me well on the last post. I assure you I'm in safe hands, my doc did graduate from the greatest public university in the world. That would be the University of Michigan for those who don't want to admit it.
There's quite a few of good managers listed up there. Cubs with their floating heads again, I could understand that now a days with social distancing and all. I don't think I knew Don Zimmer ever coached the Red Sox or that Tommy Lasorda did the Dodgers (kidding).
The top picture came from the Facebook purchase, all the others came from Sportlots. These 19 cards put the 1979 Topps set at 402 cards which is good for just over 55% completed.
I put in another order at the virtual dime store (baseballcardstore.ca) as well as had some of my cards shipped from Sportlots. Once those get here and I get them logged in and scanned, I'll start next months cards.
Welcome
This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

I've always loved the team cards. Interesting that the Cubs couldn't pull off a team shot that year and Topps had to resort to the "floating head" shots. The Twins card is cool too. Gene Mauch was, let's just say...an interesting character in baseball. I wrote about him a few months ago. Check it out if you get a minute. It's worth a read.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you with your procedure.
Good luck tomorrow! (Not that you'll need it--go blue!)
ReplyDeleteAlways liked that Astrodome one. Best wishes on the surgery.
ReplyDeleteHope the surgery goes smoothly. Love seeing the Astrodome. Wish the Mariners card was zoomed out a little more so we could get a better peek at the Kingdome.
