Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

Am I leaving?

I’ve been debating off and on on whether to continue this blog.  I won’t delete it or anything so if I decide to come back to it I can.  I haven’t changed my collecting habits, and I enjoy the blog.  But if you’ve ever tried to go to my site using Google Chrome, you’ll understand why I’m annoyed.  It blocks my site saying it “might” have malware.  It says I have things from a certain site (which hasn’t been active in a long time) and I do.  I uploaded a few pictures from their site to mine (they are watermarked so I didn’t steal them).  I didn’t link to their site and you can’t put malware in a photograph (that I know of).  But that’s not even what’s pissing me off.  I have no way of contacting Google to remove the block.  It says to go to my Webmaster Tools site and go to my site and then click malware.  Now if I had malware of my site, a button to contact them to have them review my site would be there.  But being that I don’t have malware on my site, there is no link to contact them.  Even their Webmaster Tools page says my site is clean.

Webmaster Tools - Malware - http---mysportsandsportscards.blogspot.com-

It’s ridiculous.  I have sent email’s through other links asking for help, even tweeted Google Chrome and nothing.

I’ve thought about switching to Wordpress but I don’t want to lose what I’ve created here.  I think I would switch if I could upload this blog onto theirs but I didn’t see anyway to do that.  Luckily, it’s only Google Chrome blocking my site so if you use any other browser it still works.  As far as I know it hasn’t hurt my stats any, I’m still getting the same amount of hits as I was before.  But it just pisses me off that it’s even happening.  If you do use Chrome, all you have to do is click Advanced and then Proceed anyways but I would imagine for most people, the big warning page would scare them away.  I probably wouldn’t even know it was happening if I didn’t use Chrome.

I don’t know what I’m going to do.  This is more of a bragging blog anyways because I generally only post what I have, mainly because that’s all I care about.  I don’t really talk sports on here anymore other than talking about my cards.  I haven’t bought any packs since late last year, maybe even over a year.  I can’t trade much anymore because I only buy cards for my collections.  Like I said, I haven’t stopped collecting, I just feel like I don’t really contribute much to the blogging community.

For now, it will continue while I continue to figure out what I want to do.

  1. I there. Blogger was all too good before this upgrades...

But, if you think on going to wordpress I think they have a tool that allows you to import posts from other blog services. So all things you've posted here may not be lose in the process. Check if they do or not have that tool but I'm almost certain they do.

Hope to keep reading your blog.

  2. Hi Jeff,
Ana is right. Wordpress (both .org and .com) has tools to import posts from other services. It's actually pretty easy.

    Good luck!

    1. I don't want to leave but I'm frustrated at freaking Chrome.

I feel like I need to get a wall safe behind a painting or something.

  6. Just an FYI, I looked at the code behind your template, and checked it out in Chrome. It's main complaint is that content from a "known source" of malware is on your page. When I looked for it in the code, it was a blank icon for "The Best Damn Sports Site". It's the last blog in your "Sport's Blogs" sidebar. I'd bet that if you removed that sidebar, or just unfollowed/unsubscribed from that blog, you'd probably get rid of the warning. Just a thought.

    1. I thought that was the first thing I did, apparently not. I will remove it when I get home from work and see if that does it. Thanks for taking the effort to look. I really appreciate it.

Sorry about the word verification, but blogger sucks at filtering out the comments as of late. As bad as their last update is.
