That’s right, I even picked up some great 1950’s White Sox cards while on my trip.
Picked up this 1959 Topps rookie stars of John Romano. Only my 4th card from the 1959 team set.
This 1957 Topps Jim Landis rookie. Only my 3rd card from the 1957 team set.
That’s right, 7 cards from the 1954 Topps set. These were the first cards of the 1954 set in the White Sox collection. Now do you see why I got all excited about all the vintage White Sox cards I purchased. But wait, there’s more.
My first 1954 Bowman. So with all the 1954 purchases, they all become the oldest cards in my White Sox collection. I don’t even have a want list for the early Bowman sets like the one above. I guess I never figured I’d have any.
So how’d I do on my vacation pick-ups for the White Sox collection? I had a great time sorting through all the vintage. But you haven’t even seen it all yet, I still have some vintage collection posts as well as a few player collection posts. But before those, I’ll show you the few autos and relics that I picked up tomorrow.
I guess that is what it will take - get the hell out of Dodge to find Sox cards at a good price.
ReplyDeleteWow dude, nice 1950s! I'm jealous, even if they're White Sox.
