Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

1981 Topps–Paul Dade #496

I’m collecting the 1981 set, slowly but surely. This post is the latest in my quest for the completion.

  • Purchase Price – $0.11 (part of a lot – 9/$.99)
  • On the back (toon, bottom left) – Was PCL batting champ with .363 average at Salt Lake City in 1976.
  • On the back (toon, bottom right) – He lists traveling among his hobbies.
  • Drafted by the Angels in the 1st round (10th pick)

Out of the first 3 cards that I’ve posted for the 1981 Topps set, this is the 1st player to not be drafted by the Braves.  Played mostly right field and third base but also saw some time in left and center and also 4 games at second base.  Was traded for eventual manager of the Indians, Orioles and Mariners, Mike Hargrove.
  • Cards I have in this set – 3
  • Total price paid – $0.33
  • Average price per card – $0.11
  • Cards left to purchase – 723
