Welcome

This blog is about sports cards. I tend to only purchase cheap items so don't come hear expecting to see big money cards. My teams collections are Chicago White Sox and Michigan Wolverines. I also have a bunch of player collections.

1973 Topps–Gary Ross #112

I’m collecting the 1973 set, slowly but surely. This post is the latest in my quest for the completion.

  • Card Facts – Gary Ross – San Diego Padres – Card #112
  • Purchase Price – $.11 (Ebay lot, 40/$4.25)
  • On the back (toon) – Gary likes to ride horses.
    • “A prominent member of the Padres’ bullpen in 1972.  Gary’s 60 appearances ranked 4th in NL and he had the lowest ERA on staff.  Gary won first big leauge game 6-24-68.”
  • Drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 1st round (7th pick) of the 1967 amateur draft.
  • Debut – June 28, 1968
  • 1968-1969 (Cubs), 1969-1974 (Padres), 1975-1977 (Angels)

Don’t have much to say.  Kind of a boring card.  It’s nice to see glasses have changed, although the hipsters seem to want to bring them back.

  • Cards posted in this set – 17
  • Total price paid – $2.43
  • Average price per card – $0.14
  • Cards left to post – 667 (including NNO Checklists)

  1. Tell me about it. I have one living in my house, and it's worse when she brings home her hipster friends.
